OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Lots of weird stuff. Pages timing out, FFXIV won't connect, torrents running worse than daytime (yes I didn't think that was possible). Was worried it was my line from the weather, but it's too specific and I see others here with "issues" right now.

It is. If you use third party tools to check usage, you will not see correct usage. You will see different sessions and stats bundled together.

We have our own usage module that we can activate upon request.

How come there are two people using this account?

Does this mean that my account is been shared ??
I have blanked out my username

Is no one else suffering horrendous performance right now but me? Telkom obviously blame my ISP, but affirmation would help.

Browsing is fine, although I haven't had good download speeds all week no matter what time of day, 10Mb Gamers King, I can't access my router to see my Wi-Fi password which I forgot :( , which is pretty strange. The speeds are deteriorating once again as the weeks continue, it's only a matter of time before I will have to contact support once again, it's an ongoing problem which never seems to have a permanent fix.

I do believe this is a screenshot of a third party tool. I have already answered your question.

Could you please click on each session so that it reveals the details? Are both sessions using the same ESRs?

Not necessary two people, maybe two sessions, like if you leave your router off for an hour and reconnect, you will have a different IP afterwards.

That may be a possibility, but the above screenshot surely rules this out.

So my account is now been used by someone in Durban?
Mr Beep please sort out

here is a speed test as we speak and this is 4Mb line on 4Mb account

Poor, but we can't really go by Speedtests during hours as this is when shaping can be applied.

We need to look at after hours usage, which is generally unshaped. How are your speeds after hours and on weekends? Any problems? As far as I know, you should be getting near line speed. If you aren't, then the plot thickens. Either 1) you are contending for the bandwidth with the person in Durban, or 2) you have a Telkom/router/line fault (which can be tested against another ISP account, if you get full speed, your equipment should be fine).
