OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

It's not a derail, the thread is about OW feedback and support.

He asked you to PM him your username so he can take a look and you said you don't need help. What is that about?

Go back and read the thread. At no point did MrBeep ask me to PM him. . Hence my tongue in cheek response.

Person at home now also says internet slow today.

Any issues?

I see now yes. I was missing something. :o

So do you think you should wait for him to ask you, or can't you just PM him anyway?

Hi Grimpoon,

I would love to assist. Kindly PM me with your details so that I can take a look

The network is extremely busy today, especially in the Western Cape and surrounds.

Alot of downloads taking place at the moment.

Person at home now also says internet slow today.

Any issues?

MrBeep, I assume you guys are heavily shaping Origin downloads at the moment?

It was going full line speed up until 29 minutes ago and now is stuck in the lower 40KBps.

EDIT: Seems to be the whole line. Investigating!
EDIT2: Everything is slow, 600+ ping to cape town, have e-mailed support.

^^^ Eish, that is exchange congestion. Better climb into Telkom on a daily basis.

btw, anyone here on gold orange 10mbps?

is it worth for 1k pm? i do mostly media things on the net

sybertiger, so far I have been pretty happy with OpenWeb. I'm using their 10mb Gold Uncapped, and it has been great. My gf spends her evenings watching stuff on Netflix while I browse/game/voip and never an issue. Sometimes we even have 2 streams in HD at the same time.

There are times where they are incredibly slow, such as now for the peeps in Western Cape. If their is genuinely any throttling going on MrBEEP is very straight forward and tells you so, not like this vague AUP from other places.

All in all, a great service so far.

Network Notice

There is currently a major issue affecting all clients in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Surrounds.

2 of the 4 x Telkom IPC links are down.

Engineers are attending.

We apologise for the inconvenience

Very slow for me here in Cape Town, hopefully Telkom sort out their **** before my BF4 session tonight.
