OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

the thing is i got a trendnet 658 or something like that

and it drops connection now and then, and i am not a big fan of it at all

and i think the tp link one is a higher class router and a better brand,so i think i may get better stability with it,and better wifi around the house also

O ok. The 2500u is just the modem anyway. I have a separate (equally ancient) wireless router, an SMC (not been without fault). :)

Gold Uncapped has priority on the network compared to cheaper packages. If a client is experiencing difficulties with their Gold account, I invite them to email our support folks: [email protected] or PM me directly. We will investigate each case individually.

There is currently no noticeable trend based on support logs, and client feedback. Therefore, there does not seem to be a blanket or general fault.

The few Gold faults reported today were both completely unrelated to the account itself.

Unfortunately you've given the same vague answers. Where is the proof that Gold has priority, besides you repeating "Gold has priority"?

There is definitely a trend, as I've witnessed over the past 6 months, and you know it better than I do since you are here more. This thread also shows the trends which most of us complaining know about - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/586900-Openweb-Gold-Slow.

The trend seemed to have become worse/start towards the end of last year.

The trend where forumites who used to rave a few months ago, now complain.

Please don't tell me I need to start quoting posts? Let's rather be honest and admit that yes, there are during hours problems.

And then, show us where Gold has priority in these instances.

Today and yesterday have been quiet compared to most other days, which is great, but completely different to the usual during hours complaints.

Around the time Telkom started their BS line upgrades.

WHAT will you regard as "proof"?

You are handwaving with the "hundreds" of unhappy customers. Why don't YOU prove these spurious claims first?

So now it's quiet in here and you also have a problem. Dude you are now bordering on trolling now. Mrbeep please stop responding. He will never be satisfied by the looks of it.

Certainly not repetition of the advertising for the product.

Do you deny that during hours complaints make up the most in this/the old thread, and that there are a lot of them?

Because generally people only post when they have an issue.

So we are in agreement that during hours performance is the main issue, and that there are a lot of these complaints.

Without asking you whether you think most OpenWeb clients are active on MyBroadband, or where you think most OpenWeb clients report issues, or whether you think that the same issues reported here could extend to non MyBroadband members, what exactly is your problem with me asking for some answers?

If you experienced during hours issues, would you not be curious too? When cheaper accounts than yours perform better? When they become unshaped at the same time?

Would you not ask, why Gold?

I have been on Silver, Gamers King, Gold Original, Gold Orange and a platinum trial week. I have experienced the difference myself. I don't have a problem with you asking questions, but I do have a problem with you ranting/spamming this thread.

Openweb sells a shaped service, those who choose to use that service for downloads/excessive usage during the day will get shaped to the ground. I don't agree with this, but I stand it. You get what you pay for here. You're asking for proof, as if MrBEEP will let you look at logs of how much every single clients pulls per month on ever tier.

You've obviously had a bad experience with OW, but your conspiracy, like many before you, is just that. A conspiracy.

If you don't have a problem with me asking questions, then rather stop contributing to what you have a problem with.

This has nothing to do with downloads during the day. I can assure you the many complaints about during hours performance are not based on the shaper. If you think that, then you have not spent enough time in these threads, and are defending from an uninformed viewpoint.

I'm not sure what conspiracy you are talking about when we just agreed on what the main issue is?

Your conspiracy that Gold tier accounts are basically low tier accounts with a fancy sticker on the box. Or did I read the past 5 pages incorrectly? Whatever it is. I don't care, stop spamming this thread. PM or email Openweb.
I'm out.

RPM sets the house rules not you, not representatives and not the mods. If you have a problem then use the report a bad post or use the private message system.

I have subsequently reported harassment and will continue do so even if it is reps harassing people making use of the forum.

What are you implying exactly?

Not once have I said that, but if that's your interpretation then sobeit, I cannot blame you because clearly you receive good during hours performance. What you need to try and understand is that a lot of people don't, and arguing from the point of someone who does happen to receive good service during hours, does not actually help.

What I have observed though, is the inconsistency of lesser accounts performing the same and better, and being unshaped at the same time. I'm more than happy to remain open minded until the questions - which many have expressed intrigue in - get answered.

May you have a lovely evening further.
