OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

@Boom3laar and @Sephiroth96:

Are you guys on the IS backbone? Because I'm having issues at the moment with my IS based OW Gold account. Switching to my Afrihost 1GB free account and everything seems normal. :wtf:

I'm also on Gold Uncapped :(

I've sent MrBEEP an email, will hear what he has to say. Something is definitely not right somewhere. Even this page takes 5+ seconds to load, which is otherwise instantly :(

PS: It appears again as if the issue has gone away :wtf:

Now it is working fine again :s

Yeah, I'm experiencing the same. It was just for about 20 minutes or so that the issue persisted, now it seems fine again. Very odd, was probably just a DNS fault somewhere that got resolved somehow.

Also having crap with gold uncapped.. speed dropped to under 1Mb on a 4Mb line.. and it's not my exchange because other ISP accounts work fine.. sigh

I see Leon is working on this issue with you.

Hi, I am hoping someone here is able to help me. I have a 4M Gold Orange Uncapped Account at Openweb, and I am usually able to achieve full downloading/browsing/streaming speeds after hours (naturally I am shaped during the day). However, I have not been able to get speeds above a peak of 200kbps, and I am usually running at 45kbps during most of the day and evening.

I downloaded ~300Gb in the last two/three months, so naturally, being throttled is a legitimate concern for me. I know OpenWeb explicitly states that they do not throttle accounts, but these constant, extremely slow speeds sure feel a lot like throttling to me.

I have also noticed that, after 12 PM, my account shoots back up to full speed again, until about 8 AM the next morning. Is this just me, and if so, what can I do about the situation? I have already email OpenWeb numerous times with similar problems in the past, but I am always told that my account is fine on their end. I am also certain that it is not my Telkom line causing the problems, as I am sometimes (very rarely) able to achieve full browsing and downloading speeds. I have also tested the line with an Mweb account, and it seems fine.

This is really beginning to become bothersome, as I am not able to do anything online. Any help with the matter would therefore be gladly appreciated.

Hello

Kindly PM me your ADSL details so that I can test the account for you

Feedback: Appears I am now in the dreaded "DSLAM connected to your line is poked" boat

International speeds on Openweb Gold Account EXTREMELY slow for the past week!!! This thread says there was a problem but now it's resolved. Clearly not! What's going on?? I can't work!

My account is running at 900kB/s on NZB :D
Please don't touch anything.
