@ Saburation,
I suggest using a capped account during business hours and an uncapped account after hours. I also suggest downgrading from gold to pay for the capped account. OW is and has always been brilliant after hours. During working hours, they are not reliable. It's as simple as that.
Hi. That is an option that I might have to look into but I do prefer to just use one uncapped account if it will be possible.
which thread?
All of them?
AH? Which others?
Can you please just elaborate on your original statement that the grass isn't greener and it seems all ISPs are having problems, by listing these ISPs/threads.
Morning OpenWebbers,
Don't despair, the long weekend is near![]()
Hi. Cableguy/Mr Beep
I just have two questions. I asked about this and a few other people as well a few months ago but I see it still hasn't happened yet.
Are you's going to be managing Telkom lines? and if so any idea as to when this will be happening?
As I said in another post the Gold accounts are not performing well during the day for me, I have tried the Leon and Orange Editions (2MB) lately. So I seriously need to look at getting a business account. Your business account is above my budget though. So I was wondering if there is any chance there can be a package made like "After hours" uncapped package but reverse. I was thinking something like the line is throttled to 1MB during the day no matter what you doing, browsing, downloading etc. This way the speeds will be more consistent. I've read on these forums that there are a lot of people who work from home and are in the same boat as me. Home uncapped is to unrealiable and business packages are too costly. So a sort of happy medium between the 2? Anything like this possible?
Thanks.
Good day cableguy. What is going on with openweb, for the past two days i have had little to no internet in the day or at night. Please assist.
What's the long weekend got to do with it? Are you saying the poor performance we've been experiencing is additional shaping/throttling until later hours?
how does the 10mbps titan compare to the everyday 10mbps?
i work after hours and so streaming mostly
thinking of going back to OW
and the rest of april will be free
so i may try it out,but should i go for the titan or everyday
i used to be on gold 6mbps but 770 is a bit much
I don't want to sound like a whiner but avoid the Titan account. I am in the same boat as you regarding your requirements and was fed-up with it less than 48 hours in and am now stuck with it until end April. Consider an account from Connection rather. It is heavily throttled during business hours (unless you are on 4+ stars) but runs 99% flat out after 17:30 and all weekend/public holidays. Otherwise a more expensive Openweb account on which I cannot comment.how does the 10mbps titan compare to the everyday 10mbps?

We are working on a package that will suit you perfectly! It should be launched early June / July this year. It is indeed very exciting and will guarantee unshaped access during peak. Watch this space.
Line rental is also on the cards, which should happen before the new package launches, if all goes according to plan.
One thing MrBEEP and his Management team has decided is to not launch Line Rental without great support to back it up. So may ISP's offering this component at the moment let their clients down so dearly, that sometimes it is better to keep the line with Telkom![]()
