OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Could you guys grab an AH 1GB and WA Free account and test those?

I can also respond to direct and specific questions if you'd like? Kindly post all the questions you have in a single post, and I will respond to them asap.

I have asked you the same question like 5times in the past 3-5days and you are so evasive on the details but you respond to all questions by everyone here. Please do your ****ing job for once not just log to post some useless **** message no one cares about. Reply to our posts and questions like you are supposed to. At least MRBEEP could do his damned job unlike you.

I vote to bring MRBEEP back since he actually helps you when you have a problem or question unlike you.

No need to, I know its OW... I have a shiny new router and excellent line stats.
Spoke to my wife now... because 10 mins ago I had to turn DSTV back on to have some form of TV at home, we agree, I need to move on to a decent ISP that doesn't pull stories like this.

Im done with openweb.
I cant stream videos, I cant download anything and I can hardly game online.

In search of alternatives, because it is so erratic at the moment, that I just cant put up with it.

My shaping seems to have gotten worse since upgrading to 4Megs...

This is exactly my problem as well, but no one at openweb seems to give a **** so at the end of the day everyone should just cancel and go to another more trusted/helpful ISP.

sent through around a few ticket responses, up until the point where i get told by their support my account is now standard comms was good, since then......no comms, no responses when i point out my account issue.

How did you find that out?

I had a suspicion something was up.......so at 8am i logged a ticket......it's been escalated to senior engineers now but Openweb is taking me for a p03s instead of simply buying more bandwidth from telkom. It's fine though as the ASA and ISPA both have calls logged. 1 for False advertising and the other 10% service levels of which i have the proof and the bull***** lies being told by Openweb.

That is the usage of all ports that JINX controls, including business and dedicated lines. OpenWeb has it's own capacity pool that's made up of home users, businesses etc. While the GENERAL trend is lower, you can't assume OpenWeb's own capacity isn't being strained.

I'm extremely happy right now as my line has been at 100% util downloading my steam library for the past 72 hours.

And what exactly is the pool because with OW it's TINY. Openweb cost me thousands in bull****, they claimed my slow speeds were due to Telkom faults in my area so i had telkom rebuild my line and pay for new trenching on my property to replace all the copper and that was 3.5k all in all....................only to find out the *****1ng @ssh0l3s were actually shaping my account and had downgraded it from gold to standard..............

Hi Grant

I have already responded to this ticket.

For phone support, kindly call the call centre on 0861224466.

Would you like to upgrade to an unshaped product?

Best wishes,
Leoni Malan
Client Care Executive

This is the openweb response.....

1. The call centre never picks up and after more than 10 attempts.........no one is picking up.
2. Never in the history has openweb after multiple calls ever been able to put me through to an engineer.
3. Upgrade to an unshaped product because you downgraded my account.........took my money and shaped my account to between 5% - 10%..........that's great business logic.

My OW speeds are just as crap.
Clearly shaped... I guess Mr Wright wanted a new Mercedes.
Anyhow I have given OW ample chance to improve.. no.dice

I'm curious, were those WA/AH tests done on shaped uncapped accounts? If so you make a pretty good case for migration.

OW speeds dropped from 400+KB to less than 50KB at exactly 7am again (all protocols). Switched to my Axcess uncapped account for the day and was flying all day at 400+KB. Just switched back to OW account after 4pm and its still shaped at less than 50KB... 100 bucks says it goes back to normal at 6pm on the dot, just like every other normal working week.
Seeing how it goes this week, then will probably switch ISPs if still the same.

I first got my gold account 1st of Jan 2011 and after just over 3 years of using the product I finally convince myself to send in my cancellation notice and my service expires at the end of this month.

I have to agree 100% with the above forum posts. The quality of the gold accounts have degraded to a level where this thread has become a complaints department. When I first started out I had multiple backbone choices and daytime speeds were excellent with nearly no issues(My own experience) to now where we have IS and MTN(with IPC issues) and day time speeds are non existent.

Openweb need sit down and be honest with us on what the issue is or they are going to hemorrhage clients that cant justify spending this kind of money on a sub par service especially with competitors offering similar products for cheaper and the price of capped products prices dropping.

And so the cookie crumbles. I have seen this cherade coming for months. What i dont get is how MrB33p is nowhere to be found. :/

I see Leoni and Zelda are working on your ticket.

I see you are on a Gold Uncapped (Legacy) product.

If all continues at the current rate, we expect things to quieten down a bit earlier today at around 17:30.

*Holds Thumbs*

Both Zelda and Leoni have not contacted me since 14:40...............they have told me i am on Standard Uncapped.........and they have escalated my matter on a number of occasions..

Why do you insist on being coy?

Why dont you pickup the phone and call me........details are on the ticket.
