OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

If all continues at the current rate, we expect things to quieten down a bit earlier today at around 17:30.

*Holds Thumbs*

I see Leoni and Zelda are working on your ticket.

I see you are on a Gold Uncapped (Legacy) product.

As always only replying on what you choose to read and not what is the real problems, well played mr Cableguy.

Also canceling my account. Today, and the last few weeks, have been terrible....

Can't even open a website during 'peak' hours.

Afrihost flying!

Openweb have gone backwards since a year ago :-(

Spoke to my wife now....

LOL - Give her the same options I gave my wife - either we keep a shaped OW account and I buy her a lawn mower to keep her busy, or we get an unshaped account with a different ISP.

We don't have a lawn mower, but I don't suffer shaping either.....:D:D:D

This might have been answered previously, but I don't understand why all speeds are affected when Shaping occurs. Surely normal http browsing should always have priority even when shaped? Especially if it is torrent downloading causing the congested network?

Today, I could not even access my online banking, the speeds was so bad. I had no downloads running. Was not watching any videos. No streaming. Just browsing, and yet I had absolutely no joy.

Since cableguy changed me from @mynetwork.co.za to @openweb.co.za (temporarily), my situation has been fine. Really hope I don't get moved back to @mynetwork any time soon

Dont get me started about this ****. I was always on @openweb.co.za - NOT ONE DAMN PROBLEM. But then i got moved the @mynetwork - AND NOW ITS PROBLEM AFTER ****ING PROBLEM WITH THESE PPL. I requested to be moved back but it was just shot down and ignored as always.

Just put in my cancellation as well, the price for the service we're getting lately just doesn't add up. Now the question: Web Africa or Axxess Uncapped? Anyone have experience with either? Leaning towards Axxess right now.

Was using my Axxess Uncapped all day today at max speed (4mb line), no issues. Never used WA so unable to comment on it.

Awesome, only going to sign up next month but would you mind generating a sharethenet code so we both get a discount then? Damn nice savings system actually. [And hell, sharing it here can get you what 90% off with all these people jumping ship at once]

Well Guys, unfortunately I also cancelled (Mid March-14) my Gold OW Account (Uncapped/Unshaped) which was running perfectly most of time, of course I also had my small hiccups with the OW account, but Keoma was always on the ball and swiftly sorted it out.

Running an ISP and doing the online support is not an easy job, but Keoma always attended to matters in a reasonable time frame, so Kudos to him. My reason for departing was more of a personal matter and not ISP related since I/WE joined in partnership with my old man and In-laws Law firm on higher data/speed IS Business solutions packages.

The reason for this is that We needed a reliable, stable VPN links as I'm running multiple VPN's locally and abroad for business use, therefore saving the (R800+ OW) and investing in the IS-BUSINESS CLOUD was my only option with 24hr support if some links went peer shaped.

This is just based on some personal experience to leverage the constant troubleshooting off my shoulders.

I'm sure OpenWeb is currently revising their business model and packages - 'just a gut feeling', and will bounce back with a bang!^

Let's all hope so.

PS: I am in NO way associated directly with them as in an ISP-Company™ nor affiliated in such a manner.
