OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Just got a statement today, and can confirm that they didn't bill me this month, so I guess I'm sorted then. My cancellation notice went through.

:)

So, have also put in my cancellation notice after some fighting.

In their last email, they sent a screenshot of my usage apparently showing that the account was not being shared. However, I've been using a new WebAfrica account since about the 25th of last month. Their screenshot showed usage for July of 38 gigs so far :wtf: ROFL. Our point exactly Openweb...

You betcha! :D

Wonder if they will have the nuts to respond.

They will most probably have the audacity to tell you that one of your buddies is using your account after you gave them your 1122 password.

OpenWeb to turn ADSL market upside down

Local ISP OpenWeb has launched Hybrid Uncapped, a broadband offering that is set to revolutionise the ADSL market. Due to customer increased demand, OpenWeb now offers Capped-Unshaped Premium daytime broadband with Uncapped-Shaped up to 6Mbps data after hours.

OpenWeb CEO Keoma Wright says Hybrid Uncapped will be filling a large gap in the market. "Clients are demanding premium Capped bandwidth during office hours and uncapped data after hours. We have finally made this request a reality."

Hybrid Uncapped is available in various packages ranging from 50GB to 200GB and starting at only R299 per month. 50GB Hybrid Uncapped will provide customers with 50GB's of Capped-Unshaped Premium daytime (weekdays 7am - 7pm) bandwidth and Uncapped-Shaped up to 6Mbps data all other times.

Once customers reach their cap, daytime speed will be limited to 384k but after hour speeds will remain untouched. However, they can top-up at any time.

Clients can purchase the accounts via debit order or credit card and it can be purchased as a once-off account or monthly. Should a client purchase via credit card, OpenWeb will provide instant activation.

"We are so excited with all the new developments taking place at OpenWeb. We will be turning the ADSL market upside down in the next few months. Watch this space, our clients will be so proud," concludes Wright.

Also cancelled late last month. ATM my acct is unusable

In the same boat bud, got the 4mb gold power uncapped, farking waste of money, can't even watch youtube videos on it or have a good gameplay experience on BF4 local servers. Even my downloads as monitored the last 2 weeks are limited to 150 kb/s, and this is on p2p and http such as Steam and I don't even download that much, maybe +-150Gb per month at most. OW is probably the worst ISP I've been with, IMO. Good luck to anyone willing to use their products.

Ohhhhh my LORD!!!!!!!!

So I decided to pay the R299 for the 50GB hybrid account once off to see why they hype it so up.....

So it looks like its just a normal IS uncapped account that they named the hybrid account because of the way IS shaped the accounts.

Its a normal @mynetwork.co.za username that can log in on the IS usage portal with no mention at all of the 50GB data. In fact it looks exactly like the uncapped accounts. You might actually just be better off with a R249 IS 4Mbps uncapped account because daytime speeds on it will be at least 65KB/s download speed.

Will do some serious testing to see what this account is about but yes stay with Vox/@lantic or Webafrica capped for a hybrid account.

Ohh and btw looks like they instantly created a new username and password which is totally random new but not sure for how long. :erm:
