Openweb and complete disregard for customer service.

Well that was a fun read.

You sure all relevant emails are included, seems like something is missing?

Some one who enjoys referring to himself in the 3rd person. Say now more!

Yup, I concur. Even so, snotty e-mails (client-side) say a lot.

Also, what's with the Rebecca Black lookalike avatar?

Many of us have had (and continue to have) wonderful service from OpenWeb. They try to help as much as they can but they RESELL bandwidth, there's only SO much they can do (i.e. take your grievances up with the respected backbone provider, reset your ports by phoning in Telkom--something they are in no way obliged to do since your line isn't with them--and switch you to a different backbone).

If you have consistent problems regardless of backbone, then the problem isn't the backbone, it's with Telkom (IPC, infrastructure, etc). Affordable uncapped (gold or otherwise) bandwidth is at a much higher contention ratio than capped bandwidth.

Fnx, your e-mails were bitchy. OpenWeb did what they could, you threatened cancellation and they called your bluff. So move over to another provider, problem sorted.

I've been with OpenWeb for two years and their service has been fantastic bar none. If you don't like them, don't use them.

I will say that I feel OpenWeb handled your snotty e-mails rather well, kudos to them :)

Yea I agree. Keoma has always been helpful when I have dealt with him, to the point of reactivating my service on a Sunday when I forgot to make the payment in time..

I too have experienced nothing besides exemplary service from openweb.

***they could have dropped me an email about their R229 special however ***

Also, maybe try calling next time, I find that this sometimes works far better than sms & emails, especially when trying to resolve an issue.

Snazzy :D

I've been quite lucky with OpenWeb in that I'm on the 4Mb gold network for the same price as the standard accounts because I signed up for a debit order at the beginning of last year when they had that promotion.

I've also not been an easy customer (I'm sure Keoma can attest to that), in that I've bugged poor Keoma at some of the worst hours and he's always been ready to assist and done what he can so yeah, when I read **** like this I just roll my eyes and laugh it off because the fact of the matter is that I know that Keoma would've done all he can and then to still get such pissy e-mails in return and hold his cool? Yeah, much respect.

OpenWeb is an outstanding ISP run by an outstanding gentleman. This thread is a rather nice example of someone's attitude backfiring.

Guys add your comments to that to that lame ass blog he posted.

You are a chop of note bud. Will add it to the blog as well

And give it undue attention, more hits, visitors and let the poor schmuck think we care about his opinion???

His blog is pathetic though, the more exposure we give the more comments he will get about that his dumbass blog :D

A rather fascinating perception which definitely needs clarification.

He had a problem, OpenWeb ignored his e-mails so he threatened to cancel. Then OpenWeb cancels.

Excuse me for thinking this is very very bad customer service. In fact it should be on the list of examples where they teach you in Business school how not to deal with a client.

Lounger what happened with this dane person though.

20th July 2011

So you are saying, you request a cancellation twice, once with Dane and once with me, and now I am fabricating this?

Kind regards,
Founder,
OpenWeb.co.za

Why are you email with dane not there, perhaps i never read that file.

Never went to business school, however, I did get a degree in manners #101, netiquette #102 and spot the antagonist #103 (I may or may not have majored in condescension, but how adept at that I actually am remains to be seen).

Anyway, as the blog says, it's not HE who had the problem, but his "colleague" (fag-hag?*) so I suspect much is lost in translation which is why I also agree with killa, there's definitely something left out of this brouhaha. I like to think I know OpenWeb well enough to take their side and that blog's correspondence doesn't do much to sway me.

Oh well.

Perhaps we should just agree to disagree on this one because, well, I'm a royally difficult customer to please and OpenWeb is one company which has done a sterling job of doing just that so that alone speaks MOUNTAINS in their favour over some unknown individual with an obvious attitude problem :)

Why are you email with dane not there, perhaps i never read that file.

Say... what? :p

* Edit: Observation, not insult or swearword. It's actually in a dictionary! And stuff.

O wait got it, took me a couple minutes as well hahah

Why are your emails with dane not there? Where are the emails with this dane person?

What a complete tosser! He cancells, Opemweb even waives the cancellation, and then the dude goes and posts a bunch of bollocks all over the internet.

I truly respect Keoma and his team. They have to deal with complete idiots (including myself from time to time) all day. Nothing they do is ever good enough. It just makes me feel good that at least MyBB is behind them and their mission to truly Free the web!

Yea i think this box will regret posting that rubbish here :D

Openweb FTW, always willing to help when you have speed issues and thanks to them I'm getting 1mbps uncapped for a mere R30 more than I paid for 384 uncapped :)
