Openweb and complete disregard for customer service.

Lounger what happened with this dane person though.

20th July 2011

So you are saying, you request a cancellation twice, once with Dane and once with me, and now I am fabricating this?

Kind regards,
Founder,
OpenWeb.co.za

Why are you email with dane not there, perhaps i never read that file.
If you read the blog, he gave them time to provide the cancellation request and it wasn't forthcoming.

I quote "Please point out to me the time and date at which i requested my service be cancelled?".

It sounds as though the Openweb founder's pride got in the way and he didn't like the criticism so he reacted unprofessionally. He also claims the 1st mail is a cancellation, which it clearly is not.

I'm not sure why the two of you are so rabid in this thread - something I'm missing here>?>

What a complete tosser! He cancells, Opemweb even waives the cancellation, and then the dude goes and posts a bunch of bollocks all over the internet.

I truly respect Keoma and his team. They have to deal with complete idiots (including myself from time to time) all day. Nothing they do is ever good enough. It just makes me feel good that at least MyBB is behind them and their mission to truly Free the web!
Show us where he "cancells" [sic]

We know better? The correspondence is nonsensical?

Evidently they have been jerking OpenWeb around, which I gather from one prior cancellation request to someone named Dane, and then, "This is my final complaint, otherwise I'm cancelling."

At best, it was a miscommunication. At worst, OpenWeb got sick of a difficult customer.

/shrug

We don't blame OpenWeb because we know better, we know how difficult WE can be and how patient Keoma and kin have been with us.

And even as a miscommunication, the client's attitude became arrogant and antagonistic instead of apologetic and trying to clarify. Just from the correspondence you can tell OpenWeb was nothing more than defensive at best.

So yeah, I'll stand up for a proven ISP rather than take the troll-bait of what looks to be an antagonistic brat who clearly doesn't understand that OpenWeb is a reseller.

Lounger i have sent mrbeep 3 email in one day requesting different backbones and i have been switched after every mail within 2 minutes with no funny comments and no rudeness on mrbeeps part. Also if you read the openweb thread there is no complaints of rubbish service which leads me to believe this guy was just difficult and mrbeep got fed up.

If you are implying we work for openweb hahaha then go read the mweb threads, i was also accused of working for them :D

I always find there are 3 sides to the story.

I have had many dealings with Keoma aka MrBEEP, and EVERY time I have been sorted out. Asking simple questions, changing backbones, getting trial accounts. You name it, Keoma has done it.

I find this blog and thread to be very rude and not 100% open. Its very convenient to post the 'titbits' but not the entire conversation...

Keoma simply doesn't take *****. He is patient and willing to help, but if he sees you're just trying to take the p!ss then I'm sure he will call your bluff.

Dude, this is a free and open market. If you aren't happy with service for whatever reason, talk with your wallet! Move on to another service provider...

I'm surprised Keoma has managed to stay off this thread, and not posted his copies of the communication between the two/three of you. I'm sure that would reveal some interesting revelations...

Openweb imo has some of the best customer service I have received... How many other isp's allow you to have direct contact with their MD/Ceo/founder? And if they do, what's their average turn around time to reply? Keoma averages less than an hour! (Replying to me) and the time of day doesn't seem to factor into it... I was emailing him one friday night untill about 10 and getting responses!!!

My God, the majority of the people in this thread are complete morons. The client did not cancel. The client was not rude nor abrasive. Openweb offered to cancel the account when the client had not requested to do so.

The confusion from Openweb's side is hilarious. Especially the hoo-hah over the bolding of the clients email, when the client was trying to bring attention to that point.

EDIT: This is not to say that Openweb is an bad service provider as they are not, it's just that in this particular case it seems that they dropped the ball.

Of course this dude requested cancellation! Otherwise his account wouldn'tve been cancelled! Where are the missing emails? Where are the emails to / from Dane. The OP (idiot) failed to include all emails to make him look good, and have his cock size increase by a fraction. Openweb is caring, and one of the few companies that actually still watch out for us consumers. It is a crime to bad mouth their brand when they try the best to help!

Why do they mention him cancelling twice and why are those emails missing? Being a moron means i want all the info not just the info that suites the OP.

The client did not request to cancel twice. That is were the confusion arises.

Anyways, 1 post wonders don't usually get much sympathy around here. We feel used by these types.

Hi ... I'm the person this happened to \:D/

Hi there ... soz I think fnx posted this as a way of helping me out. I'm the person that this happened to and received these emails from Openweb.

To address the criticisms:

- there are NO EMAILS MISSING ... all are posted in the order in which I received them. I even mention towards the end that the whole conversation is disjointed and hard to understand from my end even, and it feels like separate people are replying under the same address with the same email signature referring to themselves as Keoma. I would never alter the conversation as this would make me liable for a law suit of epic proportions, everything is verbatim as it was stated to me. That's why i'm so shocked and making such a stink about it. I'm seriously just as confused as you guys are as to the gaps in logic and communication.

- In the past I've suspected that multiple consultants respond as Keoma, as I've been an Openweb customer for four years now and had various email conversations with this "Keoma" persona that are written in completely different grammar and styles. Some are definitely more helpful than others, and as you've all seen - some are just downright rude.

- I didn't at any point cancel ... I had not had a response to my emails or sms support requests that I started sending from the 14th of July (when my account - not line - first went down and stayed down for three days). By the 20th of July I threatened that if noone responded to my requests for support then they could EXPECT a cancellation. To which I received a cancellation reference. I don't think in any way this can be defended by Openweb or for them. There is never an excuse for just cutting a client out rather than providing the support and service they pay for.

I really respect everyone's feedback though, I'm sure that not everyone has had bad experiences with Openweb. But I do feel that my experience is quite indicative of what their overall philosophy is. I tried to post complaints on their facebook page (always in polite language and without crudeness) and I got deleted and banned. Today I see they've removed the ability for customers to post on the page at all (other than to reply to Openweb posts), much like what std bank did when they didn't want to respond to customer service complaints.

Hate to disappoint but I don't have a cock :P

O wait got it, took me a couple minutes as well hahah

Why are your emails with dane not there? Where are the emails with this dane person?

Yea lycan being decent is better than acting like a box.

This is actually an excellent question - I didn't even know I wasn't talking to Keoma until what I assume is the second consultant mentioned himself and Dane in his response. This is when I began to realise multiple people seemed to be jumping in and out of the complaint process without actually following the order of communications. Possibly a shift changed and then he referred to the previous consultant that had been handling the complaint. However, both emails are sent with a Keoma signature. It's SUPER confusing :<

Also soz for the multiple posts - but I think there's valuable questions here that even I'm asking myself.

I too have experienced nothing besides exemplary service from openweb.

***they could have dropped me an email about their R229 special however ***

Also, maybe try calling next time, I find that this sometimes works far better than sms & emails, especially when trying to resolve an issue.

It initially occurred over the weekend and they only have email/sms support functioning at these times.

Show us where he cancelled please.
