Hey Friends,

We at OpenWeb are always looking at new ways to improve our services. We are currently considering selling 3Gig, 5Gig and 10Gig ADSL accounts, through IS (Internet Solutions), thus bypassing SAIX (Telkom).

We cannot yet provide exact pricing but our 2 Gig accounts will range from R199 to R210 per month, and 3Gig accounts will be about +-R269 per month. These accounts would not cut you off after you have reached your cap, but your international link will be throttled, and local access will continue uninterrupted.

PLEASE NOTE: THESE SERVICES AND OFFERINGS WILL NOT CHANGE ON 1 NOVEMBER.

We are also toying with the idea of providing accounts attached to a Proxy Server that will allow browsing at about 192K internationally after you are capped. These will be priced differently.

What are your comments? Suggestions?

Would LOVE to hear from you!

Thanks
MrBEEP

I would be interested. But would prefer paying around R250 for 3Gig Cap with the proxy service. Love the idea that local would remain uncapped

I will wait and see what my current ISP will do about the situation, I like my 30 GB

my hat goes off to MrBeep ... again trying to create alternate solutions (this time to avoid 1 Nov)!

If I had ADSL ... I'd certainly consider it!

Peeps to MrBeeps ;)

Probably not.. but its not 1 Nov yet, and I like my 30GB.
I’m sure MrBeeps didn’t mean sign-up today Skint, as 30GIG accounts are still in play.
We all like our 30GIG accounts, but it’s almost time to wake up and realize it’s not going to stay like that forever.

MrBeeps. The idea seems great, and not too pricey. I think you will have to wait and see come Nov 1st as it seems we still have a couple of dreamers in here that think 1st Nov wont happen. Remember (it seems like) some people doesnt think that far ahead.

I'm going to try set my clock back a few months - hope it works ! :D

Well lets hope telkom mess up and somehow do that themselves (they seem to mess up pretty well with ADSL), so hopefully nov 1 will stay a distant nightmare that never happens. Am i dreaming again?

MrBeeb come nov1st and my current isp doesn’t make a plan I’ll prob be the first one in line for one of your accounts. I like the idea of the 192 throttle once you are capped u guys are working on :) Well done and thank you on making us aware of alternative options. :)

Hey Mr BEEP

Mr Beep if your ISP service will be anything like your current free proxy service then sign me up.

that 192kb/s after cap sounds great. what price are we looking at monthly for the 3gb and then the 192?

cheers Beep

I'm sure there won't be a problem setting your clock back ... problem though is setting everyone else's clocks back too ;)

If you have to know, we made the IS offering available on the 26th in our forum but today(27th) Openweb posted around 3pm on their site about their IS offering.

Yes its pretty ironic for me aswell, feel free to locate dates in our forum post and compare time if you must.

Thats a bit of a negative approach? I answered karnaugh and the answer was direct. No its not your fault that you decided to make it available yesterday, Im just clearing up the fact that we made it available first and thats what karnaugh was asking about?

Please tell me where I dissed you? Unless you feel guilty bout something, feel free to elaborate cause nowhere in my post did I diss you at all.

If you think im hijacking your thread again, simply ask me to delete the post and I will.
