Karnaugh, my answer to that is that both NukeCap and OpenWeb have the best interests of the ADSL community at heart, and both are working towards creating better internet experiences for you.

I don't think a bit of competition is bad, and if both companies wish to sell ADSL, so be it, it will only bring the price down.
 
But I thought there is no competition involved? hehe

Yes, the accounts will have much less latency than a normal shaped account, making your games playable again!!
 
/me finally notices this thread.
I have 2 primary requirements:
A - Be able to play online games locally on SAIX servers with lowest possible latencey uncapped. Particularily Battle Field 2.
B - Be able to do research on codeproject.com and msdn.microsoft.com at good to excellent speeds (HTML only). This can be capped at say 10GB.

I have one other requirement that nobody can help me with:
C - I need a low latency connection to bzflag0.gamesunited.de. (Under 180ms(Current latency is 400ms)) It's not for playing the game BZFlag, but for something else, but it will allow me to play the game again as well - which would be nice. I lost that business about 2 years ago because of teklom.

Then I have this requirements that any business would like:
D - Hows about a SLA ? Start with garauntee'ing local bandwidth minimum throughput and uptime, and provide refunds for failures to meet the targets. Then when you're braver, provide some garauntee's on international.
E - Hows about a cheap fixed ip address system ?

To all the people who, when commenting on 1st Nov, say that the price party could not last, I ask, what price party? At around R720 (all inc), a 384Kbps line is one of the most expensive in the world, if not THE most expensive. At that price, Telkom are raking it in. The only reason (IMO) Telkom are increasing the price is that last year they made 6 BILLION rand profit and are looking to increase that to at least 8 BILLION rand profit. They define this as growth and, IMHO, believe it to be their true reason for existance. Of course, in the real world, growth does not normally entail shrinking the market.
