OpenWeb misunderstanding upon cancellation

Based on the facts provided, I feel that the thread title is very misleading and incorrect. In fact there was no reason for the OP to post here. Some dudes are just trigger happy to shoot down service providers.

after reading all this - why didn't Openweb just cancel the clients account when he asked it to be cancelled? It would seem stupid to cancel the payments but keep the account active??? so won't the fault be on Openweb side then?

My thoughs exactly. The MyBB members loyalty to their favourite ISP is scary and sickening at the same time to say the least. As far as I am concerned the onus here was on OpenWeb to terminate the account. For the stupid argument about continued use I would like all those arguing the case to categorically confirm they stopped using their ISP accounts when they exceeded their caps. Double standards here as I believe NONE stop using the Internet when they reached their caps. The arguments always was that the onus is on the ISP to cap the account in time.

Rather seems to me the ISP in this case have no control on their own system as Telkom was blamed (as usual).

as i have said i fully agree (and openweb has done the same) that the openweb systems were at fault.

but my question arises from:
- he sees that he has been charged on 1 Feb (and i will assume that he had already got an alternative provider so openweb was no longer his logged in account)
- he decides to ask for a refund for the month which he has rightly cancelled
- he then decides while waiting for the refund, to log on to his openweb account and use it
- it seems clear to me there is a contradiction in his motives no matter what the isp did
- if he wants to cancel and he knows he has sent a valid cancellation and it was accepted, why use the account when the logical expectation is that you will receive your money back

edit - again i will acknowledge i happen to be using openweb at this time. i will also state that i am on month-to-month so i will happily leave them for the next best offer. that being said, the users actions still seem very dodgy to me.
