can someone using any of these please report on how OpenWeb + IS are? it sure looks good!

Please excuse me if I dont get excited  .... Its still rape in a nice way....

This has to be the biggest Bull S... in history.... capping on local content... but as usual South Africans quickly give up and go with the flow... follow the path of least resistance....

Funny thing is we dont see Govement doing anything about protecting our rights and seem to think this new pricing structure is fine.

I am going to cancel my ADSL on bloody principal and go over to IBurst.....

KaRpiX I am happier with IS than I was with saix a few months back. I am going to switch isp's to openweb soon though

Mrbeep gave me a test account, and all i can say is cool!

it works great! local is better than SAIX!

This seems about the best option so far.

MrBeep, what about "topup" gigs?

Unfortunately IS does not offer topup GIGS yet. But they are working on it.

Will keep you posted.

Can someone please explain to me how these accounts work. If I buy a

Will my first two gigs of data used (regardless of if its local or international traffic) count towards my 2GB int cap? Or does that give me 2GB of international traffic to use anytime during the month? How exactly does the 2GB portion work?

One other question, how are these accounts (with regards to ping) to the SGS CS and CS:S servers?

Thanks

As I understand it comes of the total cap first, Local and international, from 1 Nov there is no distinction. Thus a Rip off.

Jup, think of it this way... you do what u want with 2GB after that you stuck with local only and after that u dead

Thanks for clearing that up, onto the next question. :)

What do you guys think the chance of someone selling a local only account is? Say 30gig of local bandwidth, no international. Out of interest how much would something like that would cost if it was offered (give me a rough estimate even if its a geuss ;)).

Not sure if u checked the openweb website, buy MrBEEP seems to b in talks about exactly that. I wud paste a link, but i... ja. Hey, if net stays the way its been for the fast few weeks.. mayb we wont even finish the 2gb

Openweb!

I'm busy testing openbrowse, its a proxy that allows you to browse international websites after you are capped. I works like a charm, like 20-25KB.

So if you buy a 2GB account from openweb, the first 2gb is international and local you can download do whatever, after the 2gb have been used then you have another 28GB local, with this 28gb you can browse international sites at approx 192kbps, and download local stuff like DC++ and torrents.

It really works well. Ask MrBEEP for a test account to check. It is the first real solution since 1 nov price hike!

While I believe MrBeep is trying to help...do you think he will be able to maintain those speeds when his proxy is beeing used properly (by alot of people) not just tests here and there. It just seems really cheap...especially for diginet bandwidth. Having said that that I would loooove to be wrong on this....
