OpenWeb Specials - Migration

I only wish I could migrate when OpenWeb has specials.

Like they have specials for their uncapped unshaped 512K and 1M accounts at really cheap prices. But since I'm already signed up with OpenWeb, I cannot migrate to that pricing package.

Those specials are only for new members. Then I don't understand why a current member would get the e-mails about the specials, if they are not allowed to use the specials. It's like a big tease!! :(

Does anyone know if I cancel my OpenWeb account, and then create a completely new account with OpenWeb under someone elses name and different account details...like my brother or uncle or whomever? Would that work? :confused: Just to get those good specials.

I just want the prices to go down man!! :p

Cancel as at end of this month and sign up for the new special.
 
I can understand your frustration. Unfortunately, as your account period runs from month-to-month, we need notice before the end of the month in order to change your account.

I'll speak with MrBEEP and see if we can't find a way of notifying our existing users before the end of the month, so that they can plan their account-changes.

I'm not sure which special you're referring to, but our 10-day special accounts only come avaliable when we have stock. The UNCAPPED 1024k price was brought down to compete with other ISPs and as we don't expect them to give us advanced warning of the price drops, we can't "pre-empt" it.

Drop me a mail if you'd like to change your account type and I'll see what I can do.
 
Hmmm, I'm looking into joining Openweb in order to make signing up for possible uncapped specials easier. When I asked about changing account types if I get a special I was told

"If you manage to get a special, you will be able to change, no problem."

So this isn't the case?

This is what I asked MrBeep. He told me it wasn't possible. That my name and details were already on their records and the specials are ONLY for new customers to OpenWeb.

As stated in my sig, I"m on the 512K uncapped. On 16 November, OpenWeb had a special for 512K accounts for R999. Unfortunately for me, I had already signed up on 14 November for the 512K account for R1369. If I had known that two days later you guys were going to release this new special I would have waited those two days. [and all I wanted to do was migrate over to that R999 package]

Oh well, you got your bang for the bucks. :( It was 2 days man!!

Then cancel and move your account altogether for a month at least - let them know you are unhappy... tell them you will return if you are able to at the special price... or just wait until it is available again. If you like, I will cancel my openweb account in solidarity with you... seriously.

Oooo...nice idea...

You hear that MrBeep and Equinox....you have two crazy folks here who want those cheaper specials!!! I'm sure there are more out there.

Nice going on the cheaper local only accounts. Glad to hear you can reduce their prices......now how about shmoozing with IS to get cheaper uncapped...hehe :D

This is what happens when there is true competition. This is what could happen if the DOC dropped all telecoms regulations, making iCasa irrelevant.
