Reality is, as with most things, you get what you pay for. Solution is to go Gold.

You know. Not everyone can afford to get the gold package. It expensive enough as it is due to telkom's line rental
 
Sure, but my point was if you don't pay for Gold, you can't expect the performance of Gold, s'all.
 
Im getting 2kbs from megaupload on my 4mbit account :(
Max speed on my siax based acc
 
MrBEEP, if I want to change my account how does it work? Do I need to cancel my account at the end of the month and reapply for the other one or what?

Im getting horrid HTTP speeds all round. Local speedtests show me maxing at under 1mbit but anything int im maxing out at around 15kb/s

Anyone here who plays wow on the normal 384 package? Just want to know how it is ping wise so I can compare it to the lite package
 
Just thought I'd pop in and say I've had a superb experience with my OpenWeb 4Mpbs Gold Uncapped account for the past few months. On the IS backbone, I get pretty poor torrent speeds during the day on weekdays, but in the evenings it gradually increases to full line speed and I get 400KB/s+ for almost the whole weekend. HTML has never been a problem and my pings are excellent, 4 people playing TF2 on the same line with pings between 35 and 45 and I can play anything with a ping of +/-40 WHILE downloading a torrent at 400KB/s.

Im not on gold but on the standard shaped product and im barely able to crack 1mbit. Even now i can seem to even access megaupload/rapidshare.
Iv dropped a few mails to support and admin and have yet to get any response back

Is there something wrong with the network? A bunch of websites refuse to load (my friend can open them). Been like this since Sunday morning
 
Serious question here and hopefully you guys can assist. I am going to upgrade with openweb in a month or 2 (just away till December). What would the difference be (practical terms) on the 4 meg standard uncapped between the 4 meg (shaped) gold account? I play Ps3 and need the lower latency, and will probably be moving 100 - 150 gigs a month. Cost is a deciding factor of course, but if i really need the Gold, and it meets my needs, then i'll have to go with it. Thanks.

Very erratic... jumps to +-30 KB/s then right back down again then up again :confused:

Sorry for the probably redundant request but whats the difference between the Standard & Gold openweb accounts. Browsed the openweb site and besides the prices they seem the same?
