Was running at a stable 1.4Mbps which is about half. This is just normal browsing/downloading/YouTube as monitored through Networx and verified by Speedtest :)

No idea which protocols, exactly, are throttled but it seems to be pretty thorough.

Well, remember, I'd been using VB for over a year and I never had speed issues on 384 either. 4Mbps is a whole other game where it seems throttling/shaping or even network routing issues (what I suspect my problem with VB is, considering my location) come out of the box, or are at least noticeable.

Yeah I can imagine. On the most part I've been free from anything major, as long as I stay out of that 20% area :p
 
I tried to torrent now now.. They're shaping me to death for forsaking NZBs. :( Haahaha was all working fine till I started a torrent, then reset pc and whammo down from 350 or so to an intermittent 50kb/s.

Last night there was definitely a fault on the IS network, as we received MANY complaints. I will try and find out today what happened. I do apologize!

This is getting ridiculous! I have never had so many issues with a network than with the Internet Solutions network this month!

Mr Beep, is it possible for you to move me to VB lets say for a month and if I'm not happy move me back to IS?
How do the VB people check their usage?

Thanks MrBEEP, but it seems unfair you must apologize for IS bugger ups. Lets hope they pull finger and do some good for a change.

No usage. You'll have to get a 3rd party counter. It's uncapped, is it necessary to keep an eye on usage, or is this solely for bragging rights?

Haha, not for bragging rights, if I compare my month to month usage I can judge how good the network was running that month but getting a third party monitor isn't a problem, was just wondering.
 
The point is, you pay R5xx pm more or less for an uncapped shaped acc. If you pay R200 more for the gold (best) you want to make sure you are getting what you paid for. I know that I'll be back on gold as soon as I get a raise :p
