I have replied 3 times to you. Your reply address is [email protected] This is the problem. I cannot reply to this address, as Telkom rejects any emails sent to those addresses. Please email me from an address I can reply to.

Well seeing as i received a reply saying you have opened a fault ticket on the 22/06/2011 i assumed that there was no problem with the reply (this was the only email i received)
Not just that you have all my details so you could have gotten my email address from my account ?
NO matter i have sent you a email from a gmail account lets hope it works this time

Anyone having problems this morning on Gold VB? I'm downloading at 15KB/s from Astraweb

EDIT: Nevermind, just checked my history and its only this hour that its downloading slow.

Mr Beep put me on the Altech backbone from IS (4Meg) and I must say I've had nothing but pleasure being on Altech.

Thanks Mr Beep! :D

Wonder if theres any plans from openweb to adjust the 1mbs standard uncapped prices.

Mweb: R299
Afrihost: R297
Openweb: R359

Feels like openweb is falling behind in terms of pricing.

I agree, as soon as OpenWeb drop the price I will consider getting a 1mbs line.

remember, you get what you pay for. i don't mind the high pricing as long as the service is there...and working :)

+1 No point having a cheap service that is crap.

People focus way too much on price and too little on quality.

Overall I love openweb. When I have a problem it usually gets sorted really quickly and I would rather not move to another ISP, but unfortunately price is a major concern for me. With the price that openweb has now for the 1mbs I am stuck using 384. If they lower their price I can just afford 1mbs. If not then I will have to move to another ISP.

I'll stay with OW as long as I can, best service I had since moving to ADSL. But it is not nice being stuck on 384. Will see when telscum lower the 1mbs subs to R289, maybe I'll be able to later this year, who's knows?

Pffft. Don't get your hopes up. This is telkom we're talking about.

Could anyone give me a breakdown on the different backbones OW use and what they optimized for.
P2P, HTTP, and gaming.. which one would suite this?

Thanks in advance

There's Altech, Nology, BCS, Vodacom business and Internet Solutions.

Hey Friends,

There is currently a Telkom backbone fault causing slow speeds for some clients.

Engineers are attending.

Hey Friends,

I have been getting epically slow speeds the last week and a bit (there have been 1/2 exceptions). During the day my download speeds are non-existent (cant even connect to IS news server), I can't play online (local) games because I get a ping of 1000 or 200 on a good day, and whenever I complain about it I always get told that it is Telkom's fault. But how come then at 5pm +- my speeds always return to normal.....

Is anyone else having these problems. Btw I am on the IS backbone.
