been running 24/7 full speed on vb since i got it, month and half. Not sure what issues you guys got but damn mweb and openweb is like comparing an aids infested hooker with classy hooker who does one oke a day :p
 
MrBEEP recreated my account (profile) last night, and it ran at around 400KBs... Lets see if it holds.
 
My IS was sluggish the whole week. But since yesterday it has really been flying. Getting full speed on everything so at the moment I am very happy. I just hope it stays this way.
 
Yeah back to full speed this morning but the accounts are definitely being managed/throttled/shaped... In my case not all that severe, 60% of 10mb is still 600kBps but when you used to 1000kBps..... :p

I agree Killa, VB is also going like a boeing for me again, nice to get full line speed on downloads again :D

Agreed. This hasn't been a very good week for me on 4Mb Gold IS - after hours speeds could have been much better. Since last night, however, things have picked up - not quite as good as last weekend so far, but much better than during the week.

Just to compare notes - during business hours in the week, my account is completely useless to download ANYTHING (FTP, File Host, torrent, UseNet all at dialup speed 5KByte/sec if your lucky), but email and web full speed. However, I happened to notice yesterday, when FireFox updated, the download (which was only about 20 seconds) ran at my full 4Mb line speed, and this was bang in the middle of business hours.

Clearly there is is quite severe shaping on IS 4Mb Gold accounts during weekdays business hours - EVERYTHING except Web and email literally shaped into the ground.

Comments anybody ?

Doing some maths which i am rather good at, english not my strong my point :D

400 x 24
1000 x 12

= very much the same :p
 
I am saying after hour 10 meg and 4 meg gold is almost the same thing :D.

I have been drinking but i think i am making sense :D

400 downloaded by me 24/7 = nearly the same at 10 meg downloaded for 12 hours.
 
Can I get some opinions based on recent (last 2 months or so) experiences with Openweb? Been considering dropping Mweb uncapped for Openweb Gold Uncapped, but would like to know what to expect. Is it better at all?
 
Depends a lot on your area, but for the most part OpenWeb Gold is pretty much the best shaped uncapped offering out there at the moment. Been on it for a week now, and incredibly happy with it.
 
Im trying to get a test account. PM'd Mr.Beep a while back to no avail. Also emailed asking them for one, also to no avail. Want to test before the special ends to drop my current isp for openweb....
 
Download speed is down to 20-30kbs atm with direct download. Anyone else feeling a speed decrease?

EDIT: Now jumping between 13-40kbs
