Hey Friends,

Im afraid there is a fault on the international cable.

We are still trying to establish the cause of this.

Seacom News

Cable outage – 5th July 2010 - 5 Jul 2010
We note SEACOM services between Mumbai and Mombasa are down since 9:19 GMT/5th July 10. We are still investigating. More updates to follow.

Only a few hours late on informing ppl.

Hey Friends,

Seacom are still working on the issue.

The SAT3 backup is currently saturated. Our Platinum ADSL clients get first preference, then Gold and then Standard.

We are hoping After Hours, when business traffic calms down, the SAT3 will calm down a bit.

For those on the Mweb lines, from there facebook page and this thread

Mweb Guy The outage on our international bandwidth is going to take a couple of days to repair, it’s obviously a fairly serious break judging by the number of ISP’s that have been affected. We’ve managed to find alternative capacity and with immediate effect our customers will be able to connect via the SAIX network. You just need to power down your router, give it a few minutes and then reconnect. In order to properly manage the additional traffic on the SAIX network, we will not be able to accommodate any bandwidth-heavy protocols like P2P until our own international bandwidth is back on stream. Protocols like e-mail, browsing and Internet banking will work as per normal. Thank you for your patience, we’ll keep you updated with any new developments.

So what does this mean in terms of guys that are on the uncapped after hours 4MB package?

Hey Friends,

Please reboot your routers in order to receive international access.

All SAT3 lines are now in place as After Hours has hit, and free bandwidth is now available.

This applies to Gold and Standard clients.

Does ths include the After hours uncapped? As i still cant seem to browse international.

Thanks

Don't bother trying to download anything, browsing is pretty much all we got it seems. Sigh!
