Sporadic international access. Can't access most international sites, torrents are working though

I have a 384 Gold account with Openweb.

Got an email from Openweb (using 3G) saying that Gold accounts haven't been affected by the Seacom outage, I have a gold account and I can't connect internationally, nor can i get email, and my browsing is very slow. Gold accounts ARE being affected.

Hi Anthony,

Currently your issue is isolated, as our Gold users, including myself, are experience good international speeds. I have emailed you; I am hoping we can resolve this asap.

We won't be lowering pricing, as I feel going any lower is pointless, as the service will just degrade with every rand lost. We are focusing on the same pricing we have now, but introducing a more stable network, with better redundancy than our current provider.

Gold was the first step in our move, and it has paid off. Many many of our subscribers are happily downloading as we speak :)

I will announce more as soon as I have more information.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

I am sticking with Openweb regardless of a rand change, I love the quick service, my gold account is still unable to get mail or connect internationally.

got the 384K R219 deal.....and just about everything is working......Face Book not working at all and a few other sites like my pic site and a couple of my blogs.....

I'm lucky if I get into anything now after repeated tries. Seem's to have gotten worse over night. Is this all Seacom related?

Hey Friends,

As you have probably read by now, Seacom will hopefully be back at around 22:00 tonight!

Thank you for your patience during this debacle. I just feel that these companies should stop taking their clients for a ride!

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Hey Friends,

I am afraid Seacom is the cause of the slow international speeds.

If you are considering leaving us, please reconsider. Our current clients will receive first option to move to our new Upstream provider which will most definitely be a HUGE improvement. More details will be emailed to our clients shortly.

We are hoping to have final word by Wednesday!

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Any word on the 'final word'?

No final word yet :( It is looking positive, but I must confirm first.

MrBEEP

So if there is no final word, is it still OK for us to leave...because technically you offering nothing right now.

As an ISP you are currently the underdog and you know it. Is it EASSy that you're depending on for this "HUGE improovement"? As far as i know they only launching 1 July 2010, you going to keep us waiting till then?

I must say, you guys have been great over the years, I love the personal service but of late you've been kinda like the scavengers of the ISP world, living off of the scraps of others (MWEB). Come on Keoma, I'm sure you can do better than this...

EASSy: No.

We will inform our users as soon as we have more news. I cannot announce something that has not been confirmed. Sorry if this makes us appear to be eating scraps.

Kind regards

Looking forward to it dude :D

Do you think it will be a different package with a different price? Will us 4096 Consumer uncapped guys benefit from this at all?
