just got a shock...

got a mail just ow from koema saying i should reboot my router and give it another go, i did and wow, looks like its back to what IS/openweb mede me used to.! !

here is the speed test

to london

(i had to do it 5 time to make sure my eyes was not playing tricks on me, lol)

to cape town

koema, whatever you did, thank you... now i can finally turn off the openwebturbo account and make use of uncapped!
tnx!

Yes, same here, was told to reboot my router and it's still pretty much the same. Sure, Speedtest.net is about 2.7Mbit down for me but real world browsing - nothing really different.

It's getting rather sad now, how many times should I reset my port or have my session reset - what are they running there, Win95 which needs constant rebooting?!

Speedtest now showing 1.8Mb, far cry from my 4Mb line. It's been 6 days now, so I've asked Keoma to either sort it out or cancel my account & refund me pro-rata. I've had enough now... web browsing is so friggin frustrating I feel like I'm back at Rhodes in 1996!!!

Hi All

I had better speeds last night as from just after 18:30 - not yet full speed but much improved speeds compaired to earlier this month. I hope that things will be stable over the weekend - the rest, please post your speeds increase/decrease in an effort to assist Openweb whilst they try to resolve things.

Still the same - sometime during the night, between 0000-0100, there was a spike in the download speeds, up to 328K. and then back down to 16K after that... not ayoba.

And Keoma will not refund me pro-rate if I cancel because 'You have used 12Gb's.12 x R49 equals R588, thus im afraid you are past the refund point.' WTF?

Since iv had the account *signed up on wed* iv grabbed 16gigs, i was up late last night working and torrents were just hitting 90kbs and i thought "ok... download should be finished by atleast Saturday the latest if speeds are like this in the eve". Woke up this morning to see the download was done :)
So i think we only see full speed in the early hours of the morn like 2/3am

It is you from the RU forum! HA! Like minded people... Pity that that forum is a ghost town now.

How can IS throttle browsing speed during daytime? If they can't give us 4MB's as promised and then they shouldn't be offering it. And saying that there is a lot of traffic is no excuse either. Failure to deliver! Someone should take IS to the cleaners!

Mr. Beep,

IS are throttling all users regardless of which ISP they use! Our work account runs with adept on their uncapped offering which is via, and we are getting exact same slow speeds.

Surely there si something that can be done??? Are we to be held hostage to their poor failure to perform on a service they provide that we pay for??? I mean most guys are paying for the full 4Mbps uncapped option and yet we are getting speeds that are at times even slower than what the 384K users are paying for????

Would be more like a strongly worded essay by the time we all done!

New IS Product - You get uncapped 384k and lower on your 4MB line for a measly R539 a month...But wait, theres more call now and we'll throw in this Solar Powered Flashlight at no extra cost! T&C's apply!

Pity Keoma cant migrate users over to this new network already.
80kbs during office and id be happy,200kbs after hours on p2p would be glorious but sadly IS are being douche bags with the bandwidth

Wow, that's absolutely insane for 4Mbit, HALF of a 384kbit line.. on LOCAL! My sympathies dude.

Keoma, I think you had better start thinking of a faster contingency plan because I don't think you will have many happy people left if this lasts till the end of the month. You have some patient customers here due to your reputation of friendly and helpful service and while people are well aware of the IS problems they will start looking for other options soon.

I feel bad for the people I referred to OpenWeb that are having problems as well and even though it is not your fault, your name and product will be a casualty through the failures of Internet Solutions.

That says alot about about Keoma though, that customers are willing to stick with him even through this rut but from reading the axxess posts aswell its IS at the end of the day thats giving everyone grief. They say from what iv read in the axxess posts that there isnt enough bandwidth to go around for us shaped guys, but i think they are just being extremely stingie and not wanting to utilize a larger portion of their network
