The dude has a point. The addict accounts have business type redundancy. A standard unshaped would be a god send.

Hey Friends,

Seacom has installed some backup capacity! Maybe they took my rants seriously yesterday, or maybe they are finally doing what they should've done 30 seconds after the cable went down.
Let's see if holds up.

We will be introducing our 50GB and 100GB unshaped accounts first, which will be favourably priced! Thereafter, the Standard Uncapped and Unshaped services will be launched. I believe both these products will be very popular amongst ADSL users due to price.

How much of an impact do you think the Eassy Cable will have on uncapped unshaped accounts?

I reckon it will make competition a lot stiffer hey. Then it won't just be seacom that gets all the business, they'll have to give us a reason to use it.

But is it really worth investing into Eassy for ISP's and bandwidth providers?

@wikus
Well consider the fact that we can have a) a failover cable
B) extra bandwth (eassy is something like double seacom's speed)
And c) it will force prices down
So yes, I do think it will be a good idea.

Hey MrBeep, any idea on what the 50GB and 100GB unshaped account will cost?

Mine has been dog slow since yesterday morning, Mr.Beep said he is getting full speed off my account, so its probably a Telkom fault at my exchange or area. Sigh... hope to get this resolved asap. :wtf:

Trying to be patient, but this weekend wasn't fun :( How are your guy's speed today? I did not check this morning, but most things were just standing still this weekend...

Hey Friends,

For those folks experiencing slow speeds, please mail me: [email protected] I will make a plan for you until Seacom is back.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

So, so far for the GOLD guys I know of 4 back bones. Neology, IS, Mweb and Vodacom.

The online process doesn't let you choose which backbone you would like to be on though.

Any more word on when the standard unshaped packages will be released?

Hey guys

I'm quite new to the forum, just mostly been reading but not posting:o

Anyway, this weekend I was downloading at my usual average of 38,5k/s (384K uncapped standard option), but yesterday I was dropped to 20k/s average, and today was so slow it just timed out. I sent a mail to Keoma and he sorted it out, I am back at full speed again. my friends don't understand why i wont move to mweb. Well this is why:D:D:D

Thanks Mr Beep for all your hard work, you take the pain out of the issues we have in SA with cheap uncapped.

Had the same problem... Fixed within an hour :)
