Openweb Uncapped Feedback

Hi wheunis,

I do believe the IS user page will contain this information. We do need clarification from the though first

MrBEEP:

If you could please find out/clarify: Will there be some method to check one's "rank" within the 80/20 or 50/50 structures?
Something like an account information page with "You are currently ranked #387/720 users"...

Would be REALLY useful to have that sort of thing at hand.

Firstly you seem to ignore my questions regarding your products, how is it that you are able to offer the similar product that Axxess offers yet you are not bound by any sort of 20% threshold policies, i am referring to your Afters Hours uncapped. I notice its permanently shaped during the day, which is fine by me. But if one had to sign up with this would there be some formal statement that it will not be throttled at say 300+ GB? (not that i will try to do that all the time), but i would like to know that if my usuage is high i wont be lowered, i mean these are after all "uncapped" so in theory there should be no thresholds:)

Hi semaphore,

We do not sell the same products as other companies. We use more than one backbone for our services.

The R899 account will be fine for up to 400GB's. More than this, we will be introducing a new account type for R1299

1024k Lite - More than 150GB, Standard Uncapped will suit you better
4096k Lite - More than 50GB, Standard Uncapped will suit you better

Is that right? 4Mb = 4 x 1Mb, but one third the bandwidth @ R50 more?

MrBEEP, why do you say that past 400GB the new account becomes the best one?

Maybe he missed a 0 when he was typing?
I have no idea, it does seem rather skew...

Maybe he didn't make a typing error.
Maybe it is meant to force 4Mbps users onto more expensive packages, which is understandable

Rapidshare remains slow/shaped on the new Uncapped Lite account.

MrBEEP, can you look into this?

You did not answer my question regarding the unshaped, uncapped after hours product. Will it fall under IS's lame new policy?

MrBEEP we would like a little more clarification as to exactly what is happening with our express after hours accounts. Are we going to be moved to another backbone? I was under the impression that we weren't going to be affected but now I see there is some kind of 400GB limit. Is this a soft cap, is 400GB an exact or more or less figure, IE what's going on? I really appreciate that you are trying to sort something out for us heavy users, but please be a little more forthcoming with your answers so we can know exactly what to expect.

If you have any info on the R1299 account I would appreciate that as well.

Hey Friends,

We will have the R1299 account available for order tomorrow morning. It will be an After Hours Uncapped account without the FUP.

Getting 0 KBps on OW Gold (384) on an nzb...
Tried a torrent to see what happens there.... 0.9KBps
Downloading a vid now via http.... 26KBps.

Speeds have been less than loving the last few days but this is gross :(
Restarted my router and still same issue.
Tested with another ISP account, getting full speed there.

Me too. And the issue I had last month with logging in is starting again :(

Hmm ok so I'm not the only one with "white gold" now :D
But strangely enough, I was online within 2min of pressing the restart button on my router.

Hey Friends,

We are aware of the fault. Engineers are attending.

Why are the Uncapped Lite (Unshaped) accounts performing like shaped accounts?

Or is the 'fault' affecting all Openweb accounts?
