Your ping is horrible for both international and local... =/

My results are the same as his. I find that if I manually ping local sites l get 30-60ms average, whereas speedtest.net gives me 100-120ms. Like this:

Pinging www.mybroadband.co.za [41.203.21.137] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 41.203.21.137: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=51
Reply from 41.203.21.137: bytes=32 time=35ms TTL=51
Reply from 41.203.21.137: bytes=32 time=36ms TTL=51
Reply from 41.203.21.137: bytes=32 time=36ms TTL=51

Yet speedtest.net says this:

Odd, but yes what are the good pings?

My internet is fscked today. Can barely even browse international. Done 25gb so far this month. Uncapped Lite. If I ping local sites I get about 40-60ms whereas international 200-400ms.

I just got a GOLD account on vodacom backbone and have found something weird. According to speedtest.net my ping to the local serers all give 500+pings yet to london I get 384. Weird. I havent picked up anything else weird though. Wish I could have the other backbones to test too but thank you to Koema. Not many other isps would give test accounts. My brother says that his pings in bad company 2 have dropped a lot compared to mweb.

Yes. I just always thought the vodacom backbone would be best. Heard good things about that Neology backbone too. Guess I'll have to wait to sign up before I can test it.

Can one just switch backbones on the fly? How?

Also when I woke up this morning 05:30 my torrents were uploading more than downloading. Are torrents super shaped on the test accounts?

Hello Qwiksilver,

Vodacom is made for excellent reliability, but has heavier shaping on items such as torrents.

IS Gold has less shaping but in the case of Seacom trouble, Vodacom comes out tops.

This is supposed to be a vodacom Gold account with superior reliability:

Putting my MWEB account back on my router...

Now with MWEB:

I assume there is a problem with the Gold network.
Ever since mr. Wright moved me over to the Vodacom backbone, my connection has really been flying, but since about 15 - 20 minutes ago..... it's pushing up daisies.

Hey Friends,

There is currently a Telkom cable break affecting our Gold Uncapped accounts.

Engineers are attending.

ETA: 3 hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience!

Kind regards
