Thanks to koema for forwarding the IS test account.

Speeds much better. Except now I've found that my pc needs a format. My brother gets 16ms ping to JHB while I still get more than 500. Anyone who wants to take a guess at an explaination?

YIp and your ping shouldint be over 1ms, so there is clearly a problem.

Its not account related as my Mweb account gives me the same results so theres something up somewhere.

1ms?
I can expect 1ms when pinging my router but don't think I'll ever see a 1ms ping to Sydney...

He was being sarcastic, because how the F can you expect full line speed to Sydney.

here's what I get though:

I can definitely say that IS backbone for torrents is much better than what vodacom was last night. They're flying.

MY experience with Openweb Gold uncapped 384k has been horrid. My speeds had been fluctuating so much between 3k/s and 40k/s i couldnt handle it. Keoma always liked giving me one liners when I emailed Openweb for support. At least they wavered the 30day notice period when i threatened them a bit with the k@k service i was getting. I was nowhere near a power user but Gmail and the likes didnt want to open half the time. Guess im heading back to Mweb where i could at least browse

I have to say - it might just be a problem with your line or something - I have had NO problems whatsover on Openweb Gold - speed is nothing less then 50KBPS.

You threatened them with the crap service you were getting? As in, "You know the crap service you're giving me? I threaten you with it! Raawr!" :D :D

Sorry, I lol3d :)

My Openweb Gold has been nothing but excellent this month! I would not exchange it for a crappy Mweb account.
