Hey Friends,

There was a fault last night on Telkoms backbone that affected quite a few clients. All shouild now be resolved.

d7 - Your ADSL line is losing sync to the exchange according to your logs. Please log a fault with them: 0800 375 375
froot - Please try again. Your logs look ok, but I believe you were affected by the fault.

Has anyone tried playing on Black Ops South African servers using the Vodacom backbone, and if so, how are your pings?

I doubt it would be great as for mweb does the peering for the servers and they have their peering now jip

Hey Friends,

There is currently a fault on the VB and BCS networks. This is caused by a cable break. Engineers are attending.

ETA: 4 hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused!

So I sent a msg about how slow speeds I've been getting with torrents for the last week. I get a reply saying that I'm in the 20% downloaders and am now throttled. So assuming that I understand correctly openweb is saying that as soon as they placed me on the Vodacom backbone. They put me on there on the 4th of November. Thats when I started having problems with torrents.

So if they are saying that I am having the problems with torrents because of the 20% downloader thing, they are telling me that I was in the 20% of downloaders from the moment they moved me to the other backbone? :wtf:

Really not impressed

Hello Qrox,

If the Lite Uncapped, with the 80 / 20 FUP does not suit you, you may upgrade to Gold Uncapped for R318 per month. This package does not have the FUP attached to it. P2P and torrents are shaped, but not to the level of the 20% account users.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Let me try and understand this..... You are saying that because you are a heavy user, but do not want to pay more for a gold account, you are not impressed with Openweb?

Please explain the logic to me?

I pay for Gold, because I am a heavy user, and have not had one days worth of trouble with it. You pay for what you get china

No. What I am saying is that I can't understand how it is possible to get into the 20% of throttled users so quickly. From the 1st to the 3rd I wasn't able to download due to network issues. I was moved to the Vodacom backbone and immediately my torrent speeds were between 3 and 10kbs (usually between 25-35kbs). So what I'm trying to say is, there is no way I could have gotten into the 20% in a matter of an hour. Thus it must be something else that is causing the terrible throttle speed of torrents.

I might go to normal 384 uncapped package for R219 as the gold is out of my budget. I'm not trying to say that openweb is crap or anything, so far it's been great with them, it just seems that not everything is working correctly with the throtteling system to me.

How much have you used?

Not sure. I can believe that maybe I am in the 20% now but still feels like I haven't downloaded that much.

Qrox that are an roll over account if you went into the top 20& before the 1ste then you will only veel it the next week so lest say you reached the top 20% in week 21-31 then you will be throttled from the the 1-10th till you are not part of it anymore its like an 10day rolling period...
