no problems using unencrypted newsgroups. Port 119 goes full speed

At this point in time I want to can my Gold Uncapped 384 shaped account because I get random disconnects - pages wouldn't load, then loads when refreshing the page.

Int downloads very between 1KB/sec and 5KB/sec, 10KB/sec and 20KB/sec. Sometimes I am lucky to get full speed, 35KB/sec to 42KB/sec. Local downloads peak at 42KB/sec and spiking to 57KB/sec * 2.2KB/sec and now 1.5KB a freaking sec.

My other capped shaped accounts from Web Africa, Nexus and Afrihost perform normal, 38KB/sec to 40KB/sec.

Where should I start looking for the problem? Modem, line, account, ........???????? Each time I contact Keoma, he cannot find any problem.

SO WHAT NOW????? Any suggestions?

* and I underline because I cannot strike through.

spiking to 57KB/sec

Not really possible on a 384 line (384kbps = 48KB/s) and thats ignoring overhead.

Thats really weird. On which backbone are you? Im on VB and I pull 2GB a day easily

If your other ISP accounts performance is constantly better, it cant be your line or modem, if you use the same line and modem. Also remember that other ISPs accounts have different shaping rules

Scratch the bloody 35KB/sec to 42KB/sec on local content. Bring it down to 2.2KB/sec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello nahoR,

Currently, all Gold networks are running without a hitch. We are also running way under capacity, so there is more than enough bandwidth for everyone.

It seems like your problem is specific to your line, router, configuration or area.

If your problem persists, please email [email protected]

Kind regards
MrBEEP
