Getting exactly 50% line speed on HTTP/Youtube, impossible to get more, whats going on?

xrapidx, your slow daytime speeds are a little on purpose. The mail I sent you will explain :)

I can hardly browse, can't get to speedtest.... guess my account will stay cancelled.

Achieving speeds of 380-410KB/s now, its starting to pick up, although downloading non SSL, it seems as if SSL is shaped till about 8pm at night. Oh well, not the end of the world I suppose :)

Browsing is seriously unacceptable tonight... something broke!

Edit: Maybe not, things seem to be better in some areas than earlier, my bad!

Eidt2: Ok nope YouTube broken again lol! ^.^

Edit3: Ok now I most certainly do have a 384k uncapped gold account instead of 4MB.... -.-'

Not throttled.

are you testing settings on his account? or is something that might happen to the rest of us?

by putting that statement in the public domain, you have at least made wonder what the issue is and whether it will affect me as a paying customer.

So I just got uncapped unshaped lite from openweb 384 K And download speeds are sitting at 10/15Kb's (mostly 10) Whats up with that =\

I should not be throttled. According to the website Gold Uncapped should not have throttling and lower latency.

Which backbone are you guys on?

When complaining in this thread it is important to state that. Also helpful to state the speed of the package you are on

I see. Well this certainly isn't a good start for me trying them out. Funny enough though, on my telkom account I get 40Kb's usually. But since my openweb got activated. Now it's at around 77-80Kb's according to Firefox
Could just be lag perhaps but yeah. Rather odd :p

But I should at least be getting 39Kb's download speed. 10-15 is just unacceptable.

I have a 384k line, the best speed I got on the 384 Gold UC was 37Kbps on the openwebturbo backbone. My other SAIX, IS and WA accounts gets 39-40Kbps.

My current backbone is IS.

you are getting double the speed and are complaining? or are you just crap with the speed notation? Are you saying you were getting 30kB/s and now getting 80kB/s and you now think this is crap?

you are crying about 3kB/s? I guess that's 10% or thereabouts of your speed. Having never used 384k I find it difficult to have empathy. Especiall considering 3kB/s hardly adds a significant time on when you get what you are downloading.

I suppose the 3kB/s is as minor as I initially thought. On a 1GB download, it can be as much as a 35 minute difference.

But given you have waited the better part of 7 hours already, the 35 minutes seems a minor point.
