Ok cool :) Thanks, just making sure it's not only me. (Plugged my douchebag neighbour in to my router so he can play some xbox live, half expected him to be leeching my speeds)
 
Hey Friends,

We are aware of some scattered issues. The actual network is running like a dream, the problem seems regional though.

We have an official fault open with our upstream provider as well as Telkom to have this sorted asap.
 
I have two accounts and both are maxing out at around 21KB/s. That's similar to what the old modems used to get in the early 90s. Both in Joburg.

Anyone else experiencing issues?

I have been getting really crappy speeds for a day now on uncapped Gold(vb).Apparently it is a Telkom exchange problem.Still no ETA on when we can expect this to be resolved.
 
Ok so when it's fixed, hopefully our good man Mr Beep will not do any funny things to our connections for a few days.

Is there anyone on 4MB Uncapped Gold(VB) that is currently experiencing full line speed on NNTP?
 
openweb gold/vodacom still slow

wow this 21k capped on openweb gold the whole day is really frustrating
still awaiting a response from mrbeep

Would anyone please be so kind as to explain the differences between the shaped gold uncapped packages on the IS network and those on the VB network?

vb hardly shape news download, so payed news server would give you almost 24/7 max speed.

where IS better for torrents after hours.

Would the difference be as big the following on a 512 line:

On IS avg download speed for torrents are 40-45kb,
on VB the avg download speed does not even clock at 20kb.
 
Hi

I am planning to go Openweb Uncapped 384k.

I'm doing about 30gb a month (10gb downloads, 10gb gaming and browsing, 10gb torrents)

I don't want shaping (don't mind if torrents go at 20kB) and I want low pings when gaming.

Would a Lite Uncapped be sufficient? Or do I need to go Standard or Gold? Gold is currently going at R258 I see.
