Openweb Uncapped Feedback

Anyone know what smtp server address I should be using on the Altech backbone?

Download speeds very erratic and unstable right now. 384 standard uncapped (IS Backbone).
I know of at least one other person also experiencing this. Anyone know what is going on?

Download speeds are jumping from 0.5kbs to 34kbs but are mostly hovering around 6-10kbs.

Have you tried it over a few protocols? Try a ftp file?
It might also just be end of the month bottlenecking?

Not sure what exactly is going on but speed just dropped even more. I'm on the standard uncapped and my friend is on the gold uncapped and we are both having the same problem. Yesterday the internet went off for both of us as well. Currently I'm struggling to get a download speed of above 5kbs. It shoots up to 34kbs and then goes down slowly all the way to 0, goes up a bit to about 5 kbs and then repeats the process. Been doing this since about 11 this morning

If its the above case then maybe there's a little IS niggle. I'm not home so I can't check for myself.

How's VB been lately?

There is currently a Telkom fault causing issues for some of our clients. You are affected if your speed is slower than usual. ETA: unknown

Slower than usual doesn't describe how my internet is atm. Not even getting 1kbs anymore

Yeah, that was my reaction as well. At 1.5KB/s the term "borked" comes to mind ;) Luckily I have a backup account.

I just got gold uncapped 384kbps yet after configuring my router, all the web pages are timed out. What gives? My other account works just fine...

Not perhaps a DNS issue? Check that your DNS is set to Auto in your router, might still be pointing to the other account.

It doesn't seem to be the case. Just tried my afrihost account as well and it also worked...

Set your DNS settings to: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 :) 'tis Google's DNS and solves that pretty quickly.

Also, go to Run > type 'cmd' > type 'ipconfig /flushdns'

Good luck!

Just tried that as well and no luck. Perhaps I'm missing something, anyone worked with a linksys wag 120n? I'm quite the noob at all of this :)

Last night OpenWeb was giving me 15000ms ping in WoW and lag on all games with almost 0 download speed... Locally cached sites were ok tho... Hopefully tonight will be better or maybe its just end of month blues?

Afraid not :(

If you go to your browser's network settings, where it asks what proxy you'd like to use, if it's on "automatically detect" try setting it to "No Proxy?"

I'm running out of ideas :o
