Openweb Uncapped Feedback

Then go back to Axxess.

Oi vay....remember, on the internet, nobody can see you smile.

You can't have a healthy X-topic Feedback thread, if it's all butterflies and rainbows all the time.

The man is having a bad experience with OpenWeb, let him have his opinion and venting. I'm sure that if he doesn't get sorted on any of the backbones, then he may just go back to Axxess or another ISP. So there really is no need for you to tell him so.

I am currently running the OpenWeb Gold uncapped Package and everything runs well, however speeds typically only sit at about 70% of line capacity.
After speaking to a friend who has the mweb uncapped package, he said his downloads generally run at closer to 85% of line capacity. Is the Gold uncapped account really worth the extra R100 they charge? Or does anyone have a different experience?

depends on backbone and type of download, on Vb your news will fly but your torrents will crawl, on IS your torrents will be good.

I haven't been on gold for a while now, but am returning as from next month. However, during the time that I was on Gold, I was at any given moment, able to max out my line (384 though I should mention) on any protocol. I do however understand that lately some backbones have been running under par or with some niggles. These past few months haven't been ideal on any backbone or any provider.

Indeed.

Anyone else suffering on 4MB Uncapped Gold VB?
Currently getting 80K/B's on Newsdemon

I'm on 1MB Gold VB and my steam downloads are down the drain. Getting sub 384 speeds atm on all the server in SA and even a few in Europe/USA.
Driver downloads are running below 60KB/s even when using FDM.
Just checking to make sure that it is not end of the month jitters before emailing MrBeep.

Hi MrBeep,

The Steam downloads going up and down, from yesterday afternoon, between 65 and 105kb, but I can live with that.
Drivers are running full speed again, so must just have been end of month jitters.
Will check again today and tomorrow and let you know.

Here my results for 384kbps uncapped lite. Things have been ****ty for awhile :(

Trying to download a pricelist off a local server at under 1kb/s. Secondly, is it normal that I have a vb.co.za acc but in the openweb cp theres an isdsl.net account listed?

Hi tp3to,

Please email me: [email protected] so that I can investigate.

Our entire network is running smoothly today. Any incidents will be a local config or Telkom error, thus I need to tune into your ADSL zone and find a solution for you.

My current speeds on IS backbone :

Notice the latency (tested to Neology Midrand, Vodacom Midrand, MTN Midrand), as well as my HTTP throughput is at a staggering 12-20kb/sec at the moment (not getting anywhere close to 100kb/sec). This is on multithreaded downloads.
This is on a 6mb line, no line problems etc.

Standard capped telkom account :
