Things are slow on my side with 1Mbps Gold, slow browsing and Astraweb download is struggling along at 10KB/s. Sent MrBeep an email, hoping for a quick resolution to this.

So I am looking at getting the OpenWeb Afterhours Gold. Is it worth what it's advertised? is there anything i should be aware of that wasn't mentioned already (like 192kb/s during office hours).

what's WoW like from 4pm to 7pm? Would i be able to play? Also, if i will be downloading about 150gb/month would i expect to get a warning letter on the FUP?

If you only going to pull 150gig then shaped gold is better!latency did not seem any better than a shaped gold, browsing during the day was fine.I played fligtsim with it during the day an that was fine aswell.NO FUP

on the altech network! 150kb on torrents during the day, been seeing 400k since off peak :) so all is good so far

i am growing on the altech network. still would prefer how the vb network worked when i got initially. but i can't say now that i am not getting some worth out of the money i pay.

I moved to Altech a while back for a bit, at first I got great speeds on news servers and then it suddenly died completely. So I think maybe the same thing is happening with them torrents.

IS:
seems to be more prone to disruption and niggles
fine on all protocols
latency sometimes slightly higher according to the gamers
VB
fine for all business protocols, and amazing for games from what I've heard (including Steam)
file-sharing, fine IMO. Torrents, poor to bad (since it's not a torrent-loving backbone)

Someone else might be able to comment on bcs and altech, I don't have much experience with those two.

Im moving house so today i got Openweb Gold(standard shaped), using the BCS backbone and although i came from an unshaped more expensive IS backbone i must say this particular one is very slow.
Keoma was honest about its performance though.
Im just disappointed that P2P hovers at an average of 3Kbps!:( (384k connection)

I was thinking of trying to save some money when i wasn't using this account by my parents so long and staying on it permanently.

Oh well i guess i get what i pay for....

Keoma moved me from BCS to IS network last week (Standard Uncapped 384). Now my torrents are working. HTTP is still great as it always was.
Since I moved to OpenWeb on 1 May my overall experience has been really good. Sure, there was a delay moving me to a different backbone. I'd love to be able to log into a control panel to see my bandwidth usage. However, I've not noticed any throttling and so I don't really need to worry about all that

Thanks Keoma and OpenWeb! :D

Hmm, weird speeds on VB Gold this. Morning. The new nvidia driver was pushing out 20KB/s :(
Same with the MS updates :/

Just fired up utorrent quickly and got this :P on altech

Intriguing... Where is this Altech service, is it an OpenWeb Gold backbone option and if so how does it fair with gaming?
