I was under the impression that all forms of p2p were completely cut off on Altech. Interesting...
 
High latency on VB Gold

I am experiencing high latency to local sites on VB Gold since yesterday:

And I'm (or was, it look like it's somewhat better) getting slow speeds on my VB Gold..... local and intl. Will test some more and give feedback.
 
Ok update on altech :)

during the day you get no torrents :/ like 2k, so pointless.

But Http and youtube etc are all full speed.

Then as soon as the clock hits 5 torrents cruise at 440k! Pretty much perfect for me.
 
Is you-tube always this bad, at this time of the night ?

4 Mb line running a 1 Mb account with no P2P at all ?

360p loads all the way up but fails to play after the first couple of minutes.

Switch over to the Telkom account and it works very well.

Not a great start

Just moved over to OpenWeb. Not having the best of luck, now I'm not blaming OpenWeb as I am quite chuffed with the service and responses I have had. I would like to try and resolve this.
Now I have got an OpenWeb 384k Gold Uncapped.

1. One account gets bad ping and international speeds but no in-game lag (@vb.co.za)
2. Other account has great ping but lag (@openwebturbo.co.za)

I play a lot of online games (ie. World of Tanks, BFBC2, etc). Is anyone else having similar issues?

Mr Beep? Any other suggestions?

Hi there. I just got my account details in an email for my new Open Web Gold 4096 package but when I enter the username and password I cant connect at all. My modem light keeps flashing. Can someone assit me with this?

Does it work with another account? Might be that your dsl line or modem are on the frits.

Try resetting the modem and enter the username and psw.
 
I have sent them an email via tech support on their website. Hopefully they will look into it tomorrow. Its getting late anyway for solutions. After what ive had to endure the past 3 weeks with my other ISP, an extra day isnt gonna hurt :-)
 
I had the same issue with my openweb account not connecting, called the call center in the morning and they took all my details saying someone will be in touch, but no one got back to me, emailed tech support so i hope tomorrow i get my openweb back.

Has anyone else been having serious speed discrepancies with the gold uncapped accounts? I usually get around the 33KB/s mark but when i moved back to my telkom account i get download speeds of 41KB/s, is it maybe just my line?

As always thanks openweb for the great service!
 
Mr. Beep, what gives? 2 PM's to yourself, 1 email to yourself, 1 email to hurry[at]openweb.co.za, 2 phone calls and still no call backs. Do you not want business?
