Evening guys, so it seems the speed issues are with more than Mweb? 1MB Uncapped from MWeb is crawling.My 384 was MUCH more stable

I'm on Vodacom Business and it's mostly meh, with times of yay and times of :cry:
 
Yeboo, gotta love the service with openweb. Sent an email and now my speeds are back on track (again). Hopefully they will be fine tomorrowz.
 
Is there anything wrong with international at the moment?? Trying to download my podcasts and app updates in iTunes and the downloads keep timing out or i get 50KB/s before they do.
 
Yeah my Gold account has been crawling since the 1st. Mr BEEP has done a lot from his side but again last night it was dead dead dead. *sigh*
 
Hello,

There are currently a large number of Telkom regional faults open. This could affect speeds / latency etc.

Engineers are attending.

This will affect around 12% of our clients.

Hope it's fixed soon - it looks like I'm one of those unfortunate 12%. These slow speeds have been killing me over this past week, as if being on 384 wasn't bad enough :(

I am thinking of dropping mweb like a chick that's turned fat on me, and move to someone with a more... tolerable service.
I am a gamer and i like my downloads.
I would like to have good latency 24/7, and i do not mind slow p2p as long as they get there eventually...
Is Openweb truly uncapped or is their fair usage policies? I download upward of 200gb a month some months and can't really be throttled.
Is the Uncapped 4mb option, or the Uncapped Gold 1mb option better?
Or is there something else?

Unfortunately GOLD is the only "cheapish" account that doesn't punish you for using it.

Awesome :P I'm all for cheapish. I have this weird thing with money where i don't have much of it. Weird.
Well anyone know how the gaming is on the 1mb gold account? The 4mb Gold would be a little more than i was paying at Mweb but if it's worth it, I wouldn't mind.
Dunno if i'm an idiot (HUGE possibility) or what but the search doesn't yield me any of this even though they feel like dumb questions

im getting 230ms pings consistently :) can't comment on fair usage though havent had it long enough :/ though ive done about 80 gigs so far with no throttling.

What are you on from them?
I'm assuming 230 is in WoW or another european server game?
IF so I'm jumping ship TONIGHT and letterbombing the mweb people, screw virus emails i'm going OLD SCHOOL

Anybody else having problems on VB at the moment?

Unable to get onto Steam and speeds are very slow.
 
Just recevied a trial 1mb Gold account...and i'm disappointed thus far.

Edit: I was given a 384k account, much better speeds now and my news server downloads are flying. If this keeps up then I'll happily apply.

I am having a problem connecting to astraweb on altech. Newsdemon works fine. Anyone else?
 
hi guys, another rather dissatisfied Mweb user over here, considering moving. I am wondering what Openweb's uncapped is like these days? I moved from Openweb a while back because the speed was too slow during the day (everything was limited to about 20KBps) - is this still the case?

Also, streaming is rather important for me these days (SC2 addict :) ) - whats streaming like on their uncapped package? Specifically during the day (say till 8PM)?
