hi guys, another rather dissatisfied Mweb user over here, considering moving. I am wondering what Openweb's uncapped is like these days? I moved from Openweb a while back because the speed was too slow during the day (everything was limited to about 20KBps) - is this still the case?

Also, streaming is rather important for me these days (SC2 addict :) ) - whats streaming like on their uncapped package? Specifically during the day (say till 8PM)?

Openweb gold 4mb on altech and I have no problems streaming even at 720p without needing to buffer
 
How are you guys doing on IS Gold today? (384)
I moved over from VB due to the slow speeds, and now it's following me on IS today.
Getting 7-15KBps on international (ssl)
and quickly grabbing something from a local ftp, and it's sitting at 13KBps :( (RBA speedtests peaks at 14KBps). My Afrihost account does 40KBps.

Would just like to give some credit where credit is due. Mr BEEP has really helped me the last few days, even sorted me out with a new account due to the hassles I was having on my Gold account, it is running a lot more stable now.:D
 
I'm on the Platinum uncapped and it's really much better than Gold. However today I cannot access supernews.com. Can't even ping it.

I no longer have issues with connecting to VPNs or client routers etc that were present when I was on Gold.
 
4mb uncapped lite I guess I'm in the 20% and being throttled,but line speed test gives me 0.32mbps that's a bit harsh isn't it!

Your local should be mostly fine. Intl really gets pounded. My intl went down to 25% of my linespeed when I was on OW lite. But this is something that IS implements, so you're stuck with it until you get out of that 20%.
 
@froot will I be in the 20% for the remainder of the month?plus the speed test was tested on local servers

You're in the 20% for as long as you are in the top20% of the userbase. IS says it stays there for that AND x days or something like that, but in my experience as soon as you leave the top20% I would get normal speeds again.

Lite and Std.
Edit... and it's queueing, not throttling. IS simply puts your requests after everyone elses.

i have mailed mrBeep as well but to no avail. im on vb and its horrendous. been like this whole day. *sigh*

Agreed. Unable to stream any youtube, even on 240p

Been like this since last night. Was streaming at full line speed yesterday afternoon
