Still getting less than 1kbs on everything. Still no response to email :(

EDIT: Got so happy when the speed "shot up" to 7kbs only to drop down to 1/4 of 1kbs... this is so frustrating.

There is a Telkom regional fault causing issues for some clients.

Engineers are attending.

Still getting less than 1kbs on everything. Still no response to email :(

I'm guessing thats where my problem is. Thx for the update. Hope it gets fixed soon. Terrible internet experience today.
 
Anyone having problems on IS atm? Getting < 1kbs on direct downloads, less than 2kbs on torrents and my browsing is extremely slow. Sent a mail asking for a port reset but haven't gotten a reply yet.

Yeah me to, on 4Meg Gold IS and my account has been beyond FUBAR this week. Have to use my phone for Gmail and MyBB cause can't even open them.

Thanks Mr Beep, so you when you say regional fault, what region is affected? Gauteng? I hope they get the problem sorted soon.

Very dissapointed with open web, after saying that their product did not work for me but the service was good and i wanted to cancel the service i got this mail from the 'ceo'

As per my mail to you this morning, your account is expiring at the end of May.

When i check my bank account i see that openweb has billed me, so i send this mail.

I am a bit confused, your mail below stated that my account expires at the end of May, however I was billed by openweb on the 1st of June.
Please refund Me ASAP

no response, no refund, nothing.

All in all an unhappy experience for me.
 
From Openweb's terms and conditions on their website:

8.1 one (1) calendar month’s notice for all Users making use of debit//credit order payment facilities, given before the 25th day of the month before the last month for the provision of the Service (e.g. if the User wishes the Service to terminate at the end of April, notice of termination must be given before 25 March). Where proper notice is given in time, OpenISP CC will issue, by email, a cancellation reference number. Only once a cancellation reference number has been issued will the User’s account be deemed to be cancelled.

8.2 Subject to 8.3 and 8.4 below, 10 (ten) days’ notice for all Users using other methods of payment, given before the 27th day of the month before the last month for the provision of the Service (i.e given on or before the 17th day of the last month of service)

In short it is 30 days notice if you pay by debit order and 10 days notice if you pay by other means.
 
So basically when i want to cancel i stop paying by debit order :D.

What is this business with that CPA thing saying it must be 20 days notice? Not very clued up on that.
 
Just wait the new comsumer act will stop this from happing. O wait they should already changed those pollacies?
 
Advocate Singlem, why not offer your services to openweb so that they can comply with the new 'comsumer act', maybe it will make it stop 'from happing'.

Someone of your extreme intellect can only but be an asset to a prestigious business such as Openweb.

While you are at it, why not offer your services to Mweb, Cybersmart, PluGG and all the other ISP's that have this notice?

3 emails
2 pms
and still i have speeds like dailup
No response from anyone
i am even getting better results in my mweb account
Downloads on my mweb getting my full line speed
on Openweb i am getting 4kb
Cant even play Wow on openweb (heck i cant even log in with the account)

I and i am on Openweb Gold don't want to think what the normal uncapped is getting
