Any news on VB?
Steam still sitting at 14KBps.... (and other protocols too when I checked)
 
IS is no better my account behaves like a 384 line.

It runs well after hours for the first day or two then I'm sure you get penalized for using copious amounts of bandwidth.

I do wish I had the cash for an unshaded account so that I could see what its going on.

Think I'm going to switch over to the telkom line and see what's up.


Update: 20 Kb/s on a 4Mbps line and using the telkom package.

Update: IS on fire and telkom dead.

I do know that many Telkom exchanges are over congested. Unfortunately, the ISP's mostly get the blame for this, when it is in fact a Telkom fault. 10Mbps ADSL indeed destroyed normal ADSL speeds for many.

This IS account is horrible. 10 minutes to download a HI-FI corp catalogue of 1.9 megs!

Speed test says it all. International upload speed exceeds the download speed!

There is currently a VB backbone fault causing little to no connectivity. Engineers are attending.

I apologize for the inconvenience!

I think that backbone fault was already in effect since last week (they just didn't pick it up yet :D ), hence the poo speeds me and the others got on VB the past week at certain stages during the day. But alas, will test it myself once I get home later and see if I can spot an improvement. :)

Agreed, MrBEEP is very efficient when it comes to the management of his Business !

The switch is on or its off, no shades of grey with him.

I think there is somethign wrong with IS.
Just about every weekday durning office hours the speeds are rubbish.



I have pretty much given up now.

I have had to downgrade to 1meg from 4meg (1Aug) due to costs, but I hope the 1meg is close to it's max more oftern than the 4meg.

Anyway, weekend here so heres hoping for good speeds.

I am afraid you are right . There is a huge difference between the speed on IS backbone between 16:30 when websites just don't open and 17:15 when everything is fine .
I am just tired of complaining about it .

Confirmed. News just in is that Telkom is suffering from a major fault in KZN. Engineers are attending.

Im not in KZN (North West) and internet is performing extremely badly. Was great the whole week but tonight it's gone bad yet again.

EDIT: Just reset router and its OK again. YAY.

Was thinking about moving to openweb but after reading some comments, I dont think I will :(

Problems galore, & its not isolated incidents either. From the above posts its CT, Durbs, North west maybe other places as well
