Did a quick check at 5am... my account was happily downloading at 450KB/s... I'll check my logs tonight to see how long it ran at this speed, first time in a while on VB.

Yeah just move over to MWEB like I am doing. Getting shaped due to time is throttling imo and not shaping since over 90% of your connection is slowed down

When you moving? Do we need to give a months notice? I'm also keen to try something else, so see if it's OW or just me having unrealistic expectations of an uncapped account. I expected my 1MB account to perform similarly to my 384k one, just ~40% faster. Unreasonable?

Happy to report I am still getting full speed on the IS backbone 4m Gold uncapped. Http, gaming, streaming, News servers...all running like a well oiled machine. MrBeep, don't change anything please!

How on earth are you getting full speed on your 4Mbit line on a shaped account during office hours ?
.... or are you one of the rare birds lucky enough to have an unshaped account, which would then explain it ? Or maybe you are only connecting to local News Servers ?
I'm on 4Mbit OW Gold uncapped IS, and during the week days office hours my account is pretty much useless except for a little bit of browsing .... UseNet (that's AstraWeb paid service) at 10KBytes/sec (that's around twice dial-up !!!) instead of around 400-450 MBytes/sec for a maxed 4Mbit/sec line.
I'm dying to hear your answer !

Same problem again today! I can't even send an email to OpenWeb because it times out. Surely this shouldn't be happening as I am on Gold Uncapped. I understand Torrents being throttled. But for FFS, I can't even send email. I need to do research and can't even Google!!! I took Gold to avoid these sort of problems, right now it seems like a standard account or worse.

The myBB forums take around a minute to load. If I try to navigate to a different page I have to wait another minute. Something is screwed up even worse than normal days.

I share your frustration.
I find that during the day I'm having to switch to my Telkom account, as even the browsing isn't great (and I'm on 4m OW Gold !)
