Openweb Uncapped Feedback

The MyBB Forums take about 2minutes to load for me, I think it's because of the Ads.

MyBB Speedtest Local = Test conducted on 25 August 2011 15:08:41 PM
Download Speed: 218 kbps (27.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 101 kbps (12.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 185 ms

MyBB Speedtest International = DNF

Feking ridiculous!
 
I am only having a slow down on MyBB... all else is still hundreds for me... on OW 384 Gold I.S. backbone.
Full speed all month, everyday thus far.

Beo, Qrox and Extra on which backbone are you guys? I can't believe that you guys get those pathetic speeds, I take it you all on 4MB as well ?

I'm also like Rohan and killadoob, one of the few lucky ones that get full speed on everything constantly. I have had this account for about a week now (one other VB account I had for 8 months gave me full speed on everything too before it started giving me problems), I was also plagued with slow speeds on other VB accounts and a IS account, so I do feel your pain. I guess if you guys want to jump ship to Mweb, I wouldn't blame you, but I think if you guys leave, it wouldn't be too long before you're back again with Openweb :)

It is a lowly little 384 ! With 3 users on it during the day!

Tried 1MB last year here, but the line would not sync, ever.
Telkom could do nothing, so 384 it is... and will probably remain.
 
I too have 384k Gold UC.

Don't get me wrong, I have had nothing but good service and speeds from OpenWeb. Just now that I'm home and not at work I have stuff to do and I can't have these kaka speeds during the day.

It is all the luck of the draw it seems. Mine is much slower than the 4MB guys... but for 384 it is full speed... so, cannot complain... but can still dream.

I'm on 1mbs standard uncapped (IS backbone). A couple of months ago all was great here. I could download as much as I liked, whenever and always got full speed. And then BAM! Shaping/Throtteling changed and so during the day on work days only 10-12% of my max download speed works.

I was really happy with openweb till then and thought it was temporary (network fault). But here we are, about 3 months later and its worse than ever.

Don't know how you managed to get full speed all the time on standard uncapped but consider yourself lucky that you did.I think your current experience is more indicative of what a standard uncapped user should experience - just go and read the M-WEB uncapped thread!

I'm on 4Mbit OW Gold uncapped IS, and during the week days office hours my account is pretty much useless except for a little bit of browsing .... UseNet (that's AstraWeb paid service) at 10KBytes/sec (that's around twice dial-up !!!) instead of around 400-450 MBytes/sec for a maxed 4Mbit/sec line.

I'm dying to hear your answer !

I'm just lucky I guess, had lots of problems previously but since last Friday things are flying. I use a paid international news provider. I don't torrent at all. I try not to download during the office hours but when I do, it's full speed ahead.
 
Yeehaa... mine Gold account is very erratic at the moment - was getting 200KB/s all night... currently sitting at 390KB/s
 
My uncapped 384k gold account has been terrible lately. Haven't been able to update a clients website (am not very popular at the moment), can't even attach invoices to my emails :(

Mines not erratic at all. Sitting at a steady 100kb/s on my http downloads no matter what :/

I thought so, but I've tried my old capped Mweb account a few times when getting download speeds like that, and it does exactly the same thing. 25kb/s max download, full on Steam, so I don't think it's limited to OpenWeb.
