My line picked up again... Getting 250kbs... :) going to give it till the end of the month, and then drop to a 1mb account... See how that goes.
 
I've asked MrBeep to downgrade my account to 1MB Gold from November - I'd like to see how the account performs in comparison to the 4MB account. Looking at my average speed - I seem to only be capable of 100KB/s.

Does anyone know if its possible to run two accounts on one ADSL with some sort of routing, i.e address/ip range go through x account, and then another address/ip range go through y account?
 
yes need that fancy mircotek routers, uniterm direct sells them, then you need code the all of stuff, pada knows how to do it :P

Far more manageable today. I can actually browse and G+, Gmail, Twitter, etc don't take a lifetime to load.

However, Steam downloads are still creeping along at 50kB/s :(

If you running linux you can do this with relative ease.

It's really easy.

Not going into detail, but this is the basic thing you wanna do:
Assuming you have router as conn1 and ppp as conn2:
To setup a ppp connection you can use pppoeconfig (install this first) and then remove the autodial entry from your /etc/network/interfaces file, otherwise your WLAN/LAN won't autoconnect.
Setup a batch file (.sh) to do the following:
Route add [ip] [interface]
.....

Then connect sudo pon ppp
./sudo batchfile.sh
 
Back on topic.... anyone getting niggles with FTP on VB Gold today?
My http etc is fine, but my FTP has been dodgy since last night. Getting anything from 10-25KBps on it and it's really fluctuating here.

Same here, haven't had a single issue in quite some time and very happy with my VB account's performance.

the 4mb uncapped lite acounts are they throttled to 1mb all the time does the throttling relax overnight?

Not my line. I have requested my account be downgraded to 1MB Gold from November.

BTW - this is now on NewsDemon on port 80 (all other ports respond the same)

EDIT - And I'm not expecting the Afrihost speed 24/7.
