From bad to worse - on bcsnet and dead

I can't remember in the last months if I ever had 3 days in a row without issues
 
I am having the same issues guys. Full speed on my free FNB Connect account. But gold uncapped (vb) account from Openweb is struggeling. Can't even load 'n flippen you tube clip on my VB (Gold Uncapped) account. And my downloads off NewsDemon is going at half the speed. What I find strange though is as soon as I start downloading from newsdemon, it starts at 4mbit and then all of a sudden drops to 2mbit. And no...it is not a Telkom problem cause my FNB Connect account runs at full speed. It feels like I am being throttled by this openweb account.

This happened before a couple of months ago and cleared up eventually...so I am going to wait it out.

Killa, what router do you have.

What newsdemon servers are you using? For me it makes no difference whether it's ssl or normal. If one is going slow i reboot router is that fails i change newdemon from normal to ssl or visa versa.
 
To all the people who are happy with Open web . I Know that for me 50% of websites don't open . BUT suddenly at 17:00 everything is O.K . I am not even talking about downloading just simple browsing.

I've called their call centre a few times- oke's supposed to call me back. trying to work from home is a disaster. 3MB .ppt from webmail is coming down at 700bytes per second! WTF?

Not usually around to use the account during the day, but this is ridiculous! Openweb Gold too, supposedly :sick:

Considering the Telkom uncapped, just to try something else. I'm not sure I can bring myself to return to MWEB.

Phone about cancellation . Their support was extrimly unfriendly and only when I told him that I am going to tell the story here was prepare to tell me when I can cancel .
My biggest mistake was giving then automatic renewal . It looks like one of the least professional companies in the business . :sick:

If your current network does not suit your needs (perhaps you want to download the interwebz), then we can move you to another network.

I'm still happy with my account, normal 1mb line, do all my online gaming on it. But I only use internet at home after 17:00. I have noticed that during the day its dead slow. But for me that does not bother me.

Please confirm that you would not like to move to a new backbone, and update the MyADSL thread accordingly.

No problem . I confirm that I don't want to move to another backbone since I had a bad experience with other backbones as far as P2P concerns .
I do believe that the minimum service which is expected from a backbone is the ability to surf during the day .
If you can't supply anther solution I would like to cancel the account as of the end of the month .
As per your request this correspondence will also be published on MyADSL.
What can I say .
 
Hey guys, is anyone getting decent usenet speeds nowadays? Mine have been shoddy for a long while, but haven't been downloading much so it hasn't been an issue.
