Looks like my account is up to its standard crap speeds again... Ive been getting a max of 30kb on a 4mb account after hours on a weekend.. joy

Just to verify, where did you enter the DNS info, in your router ? Cause I had it in there and on my network properties in Windows and it didn't do squat for me :(

Yes, in my router for when I don't dial up and in my neteork settings for when I do dial up. Try flushing you dns cache.

Thx for the DNS suggestion froot. I did the following and it doesn't work for me either:

Changed Prim/Sec DNS in router setup (192.168.1.1 for D-Link)

From commandline:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

No joy :)

That's weird. Best send MrBeep an email, and give him some traceroutes so he can check what's up with the account.

Goodmorning :)

If you are still having a problem, please email me so that we can try different networks: [email protected]

All in all the networks are stable this morning, and should run at great speeds!

Got the same problem for more than a month now on 1MB Gold account. Can you please move me to another account as well?

Thanks MrBeep for sorting me out. Going like a rocket again :D

There is no ISP out there with the same customer service than Openweb.

Couldn't agree more !

:D

PS: Just hope the international issues get sorted completely, but it's a little bit better today, but I can stomach it for the awesome download speeds I'm getting :)

:erm:

Mine doesn't seem to reach yours....
:D

Had Telkom over to fix some issues on the line just now.
Lol..... 56KB/s upload speed is lovely.

Think you stealing my bandwidth there :p Speeds have been average on my side this month (last month was great), only getting half my line speed today :(

Hope it comes right later. Long live vb!

I'm getting bytes a second on just about all the ports to newsdemon - I don't think I have ever had an ISP that requires so much user maintenance.

I have for one hour this weekend managed more than 200KB/s - the rest of the time its been sub 20KB/s

The odd thing is if I restart my router - it shoots up to decent speeds for exactly an hour...then dies again.

And now my account is working again at 380KBs... these accounts are incredibly unstable.

Two of the guys at work are cancelling because of the constant see-saw in service...

Good more bandwidth for us :D. They can go sign up with constant shaping and throttling while we abuse these accounts :D

Where's the "I agree" emoticon? :p

The amount of "see-saw" I'm getting is in the most part worth it, compared to other accounts (that I've experienced first hand) where you floor the accelerator for 10 seconds and get shaped to death for it.

As opposed to averaging bytes per second on weekends ? :p

Giving Telkom a go next month - I'd rather have an account where the speeds I get are specified.

Will be sad to see you go, but yeah.
I do know however Telkom will not be limiting local data, but Intl.... yeah, different case there.

Edit....
For 1Mbps
6AM to 6PM: Up to 472kbps
6AM to 10PM: Up to 767kbps
10PM to 6AM: Up to 1Mbps
No restriction on local traffic

Eish.... 384 during the day? No thanks :p
