Telkom doesnt care what is a business protocol and what isnt. Their exchanges are ****ed.

Fair enough, but FTP is a business protocol. It's supposed to (and I usually get) be high priority. Getting 7KBps on it now, even after a router reset.
Luckily I have my fileserver on a simlink to the webserver so I can grab my necessary files via http. Obviously not ideal though.

Rohan, when I left for work, one site started to show signs again of not fully loading, so maybe I'm not out of the woods just yet, but will test it again tonight and tomorrow morning and see if the problem disappeared for good. So hang in there, hopefully it gets resolved towards the weekend.
 
Sheesh speeds are a joke. On a 1mb line, browsing is a joke, FTP is maxing at 2k/s and news is virtually dead?

There must be something up with VB at the moment. My account was working wonderfully the last few days, and now its dead. Emailed the Beep, will see what the problem is.

Stonecold stole all our bandwidths now :D.

Maybe mr beep switched the accounts around, now we got the crap ones LOL

Muahahaha, yeah I cut a deal with MrBeep while you guys weren't looking. I'm downloading like a boss, 450kb/s + at the moment. Your internetz belong to me now :D

On a more serious note, my performance only improved this morning, the sites loaded that wouldn't load and my download speed went back to normal. It's really a see-saw of events it seems :wtf:
 
Sounds interesting, so they move the bandwidth between east, north, west and south periodically. That way someone always has good interwebs at some point :D.

What I'm thinking. It was fine yesterday. Really bad this am, fixed, then tonight it's gone to the shredders again. Router restarts don't make a difference.
 
VB has been slow the past couple days (I'm actually struggling to post on the forum!)
 
Meh, FTP is still slow this morning. 13KBps and that's with a couple of connections ;(
 
Same here. Keoma gave me another vb account, which at least loads Speedtest, but it is slow as well.

2.2gb off our work FTP in Arizona is not done after 3 days on a 1mb line...
 
Wow, it's not only FTP. Tried to update a software package quickly..... I was getting 4KBps. Speedtest.net won't even load.
Have already restarted my router [again].
 
Is anyone else's VB working fine again? MrBeep sent me another account, but now my VB account works [almost] perfect again?
Tried an FTP upload, it maxes out at about 35KBps (I have managed 55KBps uploads before).

Does not work for me either. We need some feedback on what is being done about the problems. Really getting fed up with the bad browsing performance. Altech and BCS backbones are not an option for me as I can't use them the way I want. Seacom I asume is still bad as Ive not seen any news about it so IS is a no go atm too.
 
My connection was practically completely dead last night for a few hours, have no idea why, but just before I went to bed everything was back at full speed. Strange.

I can concur that I.S was terribly slow last night.
Im waiting very patiently for Seacom to get it act together so things can return to normal.
