Hi,

After 2 weeks of emails back and forth between Openweb (Keoma)
and myself I still cannot get the VPN to work.

I am using:

Billion BiPAC 5200S ADSL modem
Win XP SP3
Firexfox 3 / Internet Explorer

I connect locally via the @dsl512.isdsl.net with no problem
and when I connect the VPN it shows a successful connection
but when I try to surf local or international sites .... NO Connection.

Can someone please help as my frustration levels are reaching breakpoint.

I must also mention that I run a Telkom ADSL package with no problems.

Thank You
Suicidal

Wow, I've seen so many reports of the VPN not working this week - I hope they get it sorted! I am really having second thoughts of signing up with their VPN service because of these reports.

Lol @ your sign off ;)

PS I recommend you edit your e-mail address to something like jz <at> topmail <dot> co.za to ward off the spam bots collecting your e-mail address.

Do you want to connect to a router with VPN capability's or do you want to make a VPN connection with the 5200S cause as far as i understand it doesn't have VPN capability's

It's not the VPN that doesn't work dude, it's your setup.

Buy a new router!

I have been using the VPN since day one and haven't had one single problem. How can people blame the VPN when it works!

Yikes, some dudes are very unreasonable!

VPN FTW!!!

Which router are you using?

If your router supports forwarding you can set up vpn using something like openvpn. We have using it at the office for some time with no problems.

imho, this product setup and workings might be a little complex. Getting mine this w/e yay :)

It would be to a newb but even they can read instructions so any help
would be most appreciated

Can you ping any machines on the network you vpn into?

I have had this problem where If I go through a proxy to get onto the net and then vpn into my office network, I could see the office network but for some reason could not get to and internet sites.

well i'll play around with it on saturday and see what happens :)

how do you currently connect ?

a) local via router and vpn via something like rasspppoe ?
b) local and vpn via router ?

Sounds like a Gateway problem. When you connect what is youre Server Ip and Client Ip address? Maybe their are some conflicts on the LAN side.

Are the VPN traffic forwarded to the VPN server?or are you running the VPN in pure bridge mode? Can you ping the Lan and not the Wan? There are quite allot of things that can go wrong, but at least you got a connecting established...

Another question, where is the VPN server?

Can you connect to it from another machine?

What is the output after you connect to the vpn and you run ipconfig /all
It should look something like this:

Code:

Sounds like the last 2 guys are on the right track! Can you supply all the Ip addresses assigned when you make the VPN connection, and all the Ip addresses on youre Lan Side. Can you ping the Router/Server/Lan subnet when connected?
