Hi,

I really hope that someone at openweb will see this.
I've been trying to get hold of anyone at openweb for the whole day. Can someone please advise if the company is still open or that there is in fact someone working there?

I actually want to become a new member of the 4mb uncapped service that you offer. Well, I'm really pondering if I shouldn't stay with Telkom, because so far no one at openweb has replied to my e-mail or answered their phone.

I'm almost sure that if I phone the support line at Telkom, someone will answer in at least 2 hours.

Please openweb... Get back to me.

Check your support e-mail, my details is in there(Bennie Roodt), or Pm me please. I want to make my decision before the end of the month.

I've forwarded your post to them. Hopefully somebody will be here to help you out soon! :)

End of the month is very busy for them, with billing and new subs. Don't worry, I am sure you are in the queue.

Greetings

Your email was forwarded to Keoma, one of many.

All questions can be answered with the following:

You will need to have an activa telkom ADSL lines at the speed of your choice.
We do not resell or take over the line rental

The account will run from 1 June to End June.
From 8:30am -> 8:00pm the speed will be 256kbps (22K/s)
From 8:00pm -> 8:30am + Whole weekend, the speed will be up to 4Mbps (420K/s)
There is no limit to the amount of data you download during this period
Only ONE connection will connect (You cant give the u/p to a friend and both use the accounts)

Thanks Storm!

I can vouch for the product! I am using it as well. It is def. worth it. :D

I've said it before and I'll say it again - time for them to either;

hire more staff, get more telephone lines.

and keep prices at the same level? No thanks, I'd rather take the cheaper prices! ;) Besides, I've never had a problem getting hold of them.

Maybe you don't, but alot of people seem too.

WebAfrica have enough staff and offer same/better pricing.
What could OW be doing wrong I wonder.

I can find an ADSL "uncapped" package on OW's site for R649 p/m only for 15 days a month and only at full speed after hours and on weekends and they are deliberately vague about what bandwidth it is (unshaped, shaped, IS, SAIX???).

However I can't find anything like this on WebAfrica's website??

The blue navigation bar on the left, count downward and it's the 9th one.http://www.openweb.co.za/month2month_uncapped.php

Yep, that's the one I found as well and was quoting from. Do you know what type of bandwidth they are supplying?

Anything for Web Africa??

Sorry, I mis-read your question to 'I can't find.......'

Don't think WA has something similar. Openweb is quite innovative with their products.

Cool. Thank you very much. My questions was answered. Just one more.

Sometimes I work from home and need the full 4Mb line capabalities. The thing is that I only need local cap for that.

Will it be possible to get an additional local cap account with this account and interchange them during the day if need be?

Yes, it is quite easy. I do it.

You just put your router into "Half Bridge Mode" (search for it on this site)

In Half Bridge Mode, you have the uncapped account set up in your router, and on your computer you create a PPPoE Connection to dial up to the daytime account.

check this thread for more info and an example...

(Full Bridge Mode is when there is no account set up on the router, all of the connections are set on the computers using PPPoE)
