Opera releases browser with free VPN

Opera 40 lets users activate the SurfEasy-based VPN and select one of five countries – Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, and the US – as their PC’s “location”.

Might give it a test the weekend to see how well it works
 
Problem with all the VPNs I have tested is that yoru speed goes to pretty much zero and ping through the roof
 
I was about to complain that Opera was sold to the Chinese, that I don't trust, then remembered I'm typing this on a Chinese made Huawei phone. :)
 
Been dabbling with the developer version for a few months. In terms of accessing sites you're not meant to be able to, because of someting like but not limited to geoblocking, it works fine. I'd be a tad wary of feeding it any identifiable info though, given Opera's new owners...
 
Been running 39.0 for a week now and really like it. Will try 40 out when it hits the repos.

Been using the developer beta for months. Use it to watch Sky News etc. No data cap. Just works. No need to dial up to a VPN, it's on by default once you've enabled it. Pretty fast, as I stream with it.

mmm, not bad, and their vpn also is pretty good although the SurfEasy aup reads very much like mweb's although it works on p2p also:)
Bummer, you close the browser you auto exit the vpn :(

The developer beta remembers that you used the VPN and auto enabled it when you open Opera again.
