Well, an email arrived in my inbox today from the opera team.

4.1 beta mini.

Saves web pages - if your phone supports it. mine is considered, old, i suppose, 1 year and a half into contract. Anyway, i saved the page but wasnt able to open the file. maybe i need to check that out a bit more.

You can also now search the page for words, which is one feature i've been wanting, tested it and it works.

You can also download/upload now without it going into the phones native browser. I Aint tested that.

And a couple of other things as well

If your phone supports - JSR-75, then you can do some of the new features.

Check it out....

hope they fixed the issues i'm having with MyAdsl/VB in this version.

Unless one of the new features is that it works on my blackberry I'm anticipating disappointment. :(

Will your phone tell you if you got this jsr-75?

Where do i look? (apart from specs page)

EDIT - ok, i found it. Mine does.

No joy - better luck next time. :(

BTW - I do put at the very least partial blame on Vodacom. They're a bit heavy handed with what they'll allow to run in the all-inclusive environment.

Got the "failed to connect to the internet error".

Same as every other version :( - as I said though - I blame Vodacom for it (even though other 3rd party apps do work without a hitch).

Are you only allowed to use that blackberry apn on your contract?

Opera Mini does require the internet or internetvpn apn to connect.

I can use another apn but then I pay for the data.

If it is an opera mini requirement however and it can only use internet or internetvpn blame begins to shift back to them.

Vodacom gives uncapped on the blackberry apn for a reason;). What other 3rd party apps are you using without any problems?

The whole suite of google apps - RSS readers - weather - facebook - opera is the only one I've had a problem with :(

Google apps - I've only used the mail app. What other good ones do you use?

I didn't even know there was a facebook app - I just check sometimes on Opera:)

Edit: I think the difference is that these other apps are more wap related, that's why they work on the restricted blackberry apn, while Opera does not.
