Hi,

I'm planning to sign up with a new ISP for uncapped ADSL and would like a general opinion about the various options out there - nothing too technical or specific. I'm sticking to basic 384kbps line as my usage will mainly be general surfing (email, facebook, youtube) with some torrent downloading every now and then. I've narrowed down my list to the following:

Axxess: R169 p/m + R139 line rental = R308
Afrihost: R177 p/m + R149 line rental = R326
MWEB: inclusive of line rental = R329
Web Africa: R179 p/m + R150 line rental = R329

Also found a crowd called PLuGG, whom I'd never heard of before, offering uncapped for R99. Any opinions on these guys?

Thanks
N

If anyone would consider a capped option to be better, e.g. 10GB capped, similarly priced/cheaper offerings I have seen are from Axxess (R329), Afrihost (R294), Web Africa (R299), or RSAWEB (R319).

I don't think i need to stress that MWEB should be suggestesd with caution due to problems as of recent so i will say try Axxess first. They are a great iSP so you will not have any major problems with them. I also suggest keeping your line with Telkom should you wish to change iSPs in future.

MWEB will be the most suggested but i say be cautious as recently they just been having alot of issues (just see main MWEB feedback thread for eg.).

Pay more and get openweb uncapped gold especially if you plan to download a bit, been using them for over a year now and the performance on these accounts are outstanding {through more expensive}.
