As a new subscriber, I can already see why so many people are "gatvol" with Multichoice...they are a pain to deal with, to put it mildly.

I prefer to pay my account via internet banking (my main account is with ABSA). At the beginning of August, when I tried to make the first payment, I couldn't add Multichoice as a beneficiary on my online profile. Even after spending hours on the phone with Multichoice and ABSA, the system did not want to add it.

I then quickly used an FNB account which I don't really use that much at all, and it worked easily and immediately - the payment reflected on their side within 30min.

Now on Monday, I tried to do it again via ABSA - now there were two Multichoice beneficiaries to choose from, the one is named "Multichoice" and the other one is "Multichoice - 170000072". The latter doesn't work at all, so I chose the first one and it was added to my profile, I then paid my subs into that account. Now, 2 days later, Multichoice still can't see my payment.

So, a few questions, hopefully somebody could answer them for me:
1. Are there any other MyBB members that pay their accounts via ABSA internet banking? If so, what beneficiary do you use? How long does it normally take for the payment to reflect on their side?
2. It seems my service has now been suspended - will it reconnect automatically if the payment finally clears? Are there any reconnection fees/penalties?
3. Is is better to use the credit card payment option via their smartphone app or website? That one should reflect immediately? Anybody on here using that option to pay every month?

(I do not want to implement a debit order, so please don't suggest that)

Personally, I'm inclined to believe that this is more of an ABSA problem.

There are re-connection fee's AFAIK
Credit Card will reflect immediately. Website preferred.

Trying exactly same thing...2+ years on as OP and ABSA still haven't got the act together, now MC doesnt even appear as Absa listed benefiiciary!!!

Bloody annoying, esp when dstv site lists this as one of the ways of paying >

Automatic? There's an automatic credit card payment option you can activate from self service,it uses an external service payment gateway to handle the payments
Manual? Snapscan - put your ID nr in,say multichoice and click pay, done

MC was definitely one of the listed beneficiaries at ABSA when I still banked with them - odd that it'd have changed. Good chance you're searching for the wrong thing. If you add MC manually it'll probably pick it up and let you know that you're trying to add a listed beneficiary
